The update should fix the rest/standby mode.
Just realizing I can turn on my ps4 from the playstation app... That's clutch because like you said, I can turn it on a couple hours before I leave work to have everything charged at home.

It is clutch that's what it is. I add all you guys to my list from there for faster typing, turn on my PS4 and message back and forth with people using it. So much faster than using the DS controller to have to do it. Def download and try it out. I don't know why I see someone keep saying that it is a web page because it is not just an app that directs you to a web browser. It does a lot things in a more efficient/convenient way as opposed to using the PS4 itself.

Don't you have to be in the same WiFi to turn on your PS4 from the app. The only way i know how it works is if you download something from the PS store, you can choose to download it nowThe update should fix the rest/standby mode.

Good question, but I'm not sure.. I don't think so though, wouldn't make that much sense to only limit it to same wifi network.. If that was the case, then you really could just use your control lol

It's simple. Go to Best Buy and buy a cheap no contract phone such as the ATT z222 goPhone for $14.99 and you get a free GCU membership. People have reported being able to return the phones/sims and their account still showing the GCU, I personally wouldn't risk it. If you're gonna do all that to save between 5-15 bucks when you already got a good deal you probably shouldn't spend it on discounted videogames.
