The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Don't quote me on this, but I think Uncharted 3 is free on PS+ right now as part of the Instant Game Collection.

It is. People w/o plus don't realize the value of it. Best deal in video games by far.

And its not just games from 2007 that you would've already brought if you really wanted to play them like Microsoft is doing. Bioshock 2, Saints Row 2, Battlefield 3, Little Big Planet 2, Uncharted 3, Boarderlands, Infamous 2, Just Cause 2, Megaman 9/10, those are probably the highlights.

All the games free from the first year.

If you're just signing up you can't download all of the previous offers. But they have 4 or 5 games that stay available for a couple of months (Uncharted 3 is one of those right now) and they add an additional 2 or 3 others every month, cutting the previous 2 or 3 additional games offered. Also offer up 5 Vita games every month.

And again once you start a download of something it stays yours forever but you can only play it with an active plus account. If you de activate then re activate your service it'll be playable again. Like I said earlier just download everything and cancel it if you don't want it/have the space and it will stay in your downloads list for re-download.

So I can access previous month's games as well?

No. Only the ones currently available. They do new titles every month. On top of that is the Instant Game Collection. It's a select group of games that they change periodically.

Sucks that you can't access the older games after a couple months but I do see where the guy above is getting at

PS4 Launches Oct 21st?

View media item 538581
Rumor: Our internal product release schedule from head office dropped yesterday and on Oct 21st an unnamed Sony console will be launched. Fyi all console revisions like the ps360 slims and Wii Mini were listed as ps360 & wii mini. Previously the wiiu, 3ds and vita were also only listed as Nintendo/Sony Console in the product name column.

Disclaimer: I just work at a very large retailer, managing the electronics sales force and nothing more. I have nothing to do with purchasing, nation wide merchandising or shipping. I am not trying to play this off as I have connections at Sony, or I am some sort of insider. It's that just yesterday we received a product release schedule from our head office and I thought this is OT itt. These schedules btw, are for internal use only, designed to allow us time to create our instore merch plans. If the launch date for a product is unknown, it's simply marked TBA. The only time a date is ever included is when we have received confirmation of said date from the product company.
So, a mod-verified gaffer named Nealand Liquor just posted this interesting tidbit in the TALES FROM MY *** thread. Mod-verified means that this particular gaffer is indeed in the position to receive such knowledge, as has been checked by Bishoptl himself. This means it's still a rumor, but it does have a verified source. Nothing more.

In just a few short days we’ll be packing our bags and heading over to Cologne, Germany for the annual Gamescom extravaganza. PlayStation will of course have a major presence on the Koelnmesse show floor, with attendees able to get their hands on many of the biggest titles heading to PS3, PS Vita and PS4.

On Tuesday 20th August – the evening before the doors open – we’ll be holding our regular Gamescom press conference, where we’ll be showcasing the future of all things PlayStation. The show will be packed with news on both announced and unannounced titles – suffice to say, you won’t want to miss it.

You’ll be able to watch the conference in full right here on PlayStation Blog, on our dedicated Gamescom page, or in PlayStation Home from 6.00pm BST/7.00pm CET/3.00am (Wednesday) Sydney.

Shortly after the press conference, we’ll be holding a live panel discussion hosted by journalist and broadcaster Dan Maher, where some of the biggest names in PlayStation gaming, including Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida, Beyond: Two Souls director David Cage and Assassin’s Creed writer Darby McDevitt will be sitting down to discuss the role of narrative and storytelling in games.

This too will be streamed live for your enjoyment, and what’s more we want you to get involved. Firstly, we’ll be inviting you to Tweet your question on the topic of ‘storytelling in games’ to @PlayStationEU using the #PlayStationGC hashtag.

Battlefield 4: Bring Your PS3 Stats to PS4

This holiday, DICE will unwrap the next generation of all-out warfare with Battlefield 4. That means best-in-class multiplayer is coming to PS4 with huge 64-player battles, running at a smooth 60 frames-per-seco

Even if you start playing on PS3, we want to make your transition to PS4 easy. That’s why we’re notifying the devoted Battlefield and PlayStation communities that all of the time and effort you spend building up your Battlefield 4 stats will carry over when you upgrade to PS4.

That way, on October 29th, you can get in the game without any worries that you’ll have to start ranking up all over again when PS4 launches. We got your back.

Today we also wanted to inform the community that DICE is promising to keep the action going all year long with the return of Premium membership for Battlefield 4. With membership, players can expect themed digital expansion packs, new weekly content, and personalization options. And just as your stats, unlocks, and rank will be transferable from PS3 to PS4, so too will Battlefield 4 Premium membership.

Tune into EA’s 2013 Gamescom press conference on August 20th at 10:00AM ET for the first look at Battlefield 4 Premium content. You’ll also get the scoop on an all-new Battlefield 4 multiplayer mode and map.

DICE pretty much saying the ps4 will launch after october 29.

PlayStation 4 System Launching in November, According to Tiny Brains Developer

If you’ve never heard of Tiny Brains before, it’s an upcoming title from Spearhead Games (made from ex-EA, Ubisoft, and Eidos devs) for the Xbox Live Arcade, PC, and PlayStation 4.

In a press release issued today showing off that Tiny Brains will be playable at PAX Prime, they also revealed that it would be released as “a PlayStation 4 launch title in November.” They later continued by saying, “However, PAX Prime attendees won’t have to wait until November to get their hands on PS4 controllers and play Tiny Brains: they can try a demo at the show in booth 6305.”

Before you take this as confirmation that the PlayStation 4 will launch in November (I’m still hoping for a shocking October launch), this could be them just taking previous launch history and guessing when the PlayStation 4 is releasing. Or maybe they know something we don’t and it’s true. Either way, we’ll just have to wait and see if anything happens at gamescom starting on Monday.
