No Live Stream at Gamescom for "real reasons." Xbox 1 architecture not fully complete. Latest version of SDK from a couple of weeks ago dropped performance by 15-20% across the board. He says this thing happens all the time as a part of console develoment, and will eventually get fixed. But there is NO chance of early October release...

Certainly not for 21 countries. As we know they already dropped down to 13 countries. The "localization" excuse is ********. Period. "TRUTHFACT." It's an excuse nobody with common sense would consider. If you cross reference against the languages spoken, and official and other languages is said country. Late October Launch is set for PS4. Sony's SDK is fully ready, and you can basically "master2 final right now. Today." Not sure what that means, but sounds like the console is basically ready.

FYI, though people were mad about Bayonetta going exclusive to Wii U, you'll be somewhat unhappy about what MS is moneyhatting with Platinum. Other Japanese devs are "in play" too, but Kamiya is the only 1 he's 100% sure about. The game is not for North America or Europe, which doesn't make sense.

Big Park cancelled a game. It was a MOBA. 100% Dead. The whole studio is now focusing on TV services. All the best talent went to Big Tusk or left MS entirely. Rare is still Kinect focused, regardless of what you guys may have heard.

Yup, the PS3, PSP, and PSVita had WiFi built in, but the PS4 will use ethernet exclusively. Heard they're in works with AT&T for a data plan option too.

Alright, now that I got that out of my system, what you saw was a "NO" for WiFi Direct, which, if you click on the link, you'd see is a whole other matter.

Yea wifi direct is what the Xbone uses for it's wireless pad while the PS3/4 uses bluetooth.

Maybe you'd be able to get on on black friday, but not effortlessly.

Your best bet would be to preorder from amazon and just have them ship it to you when amazon has it.

That seems like the option with the least effort/hassle.

Another option would be to gather a list of places around you that are selling the ps4 and call each place weekly about their ps4 availability.

But you'd be one of hundreds calling about the ps4.

Yes, Preorders were stopped over here so that there would be consoles on the shelves in the shops. Just be prepared when it does out.

Probably a week or 2 before christmas. Good luck with that. PS4 & XB1 will be THEE hottest item.


If it releases the 21st, no way you can walk into GS the 22nd and buy one. PPL who pre-ordered come 1st, then the employees, then friends & family of the employees who will get info on when the next shipment comes. I would say a walk- in would have to wait around 2 months.

Preorder a standard edition from amazon, hopefully they bump you up to launch day they did it for a lot of people apparently.

War Thunder for PS4 to be shown at Gamescom

War Thunder is a Massively Multiplayer Online Combat Flight sim that focuses on pre - WWII era battles to Korean war era. Originally titled "World of Planes" (not to be mixed up with "World of Warplanes" which is from the same dev as "World of Tanks"), the game was originally going to focus exclusively on planes but will eventually also have vehicules and ships.

The game is already in Open Beta mode on the PC (with up to 3 million players), and is scheduled for release on PC, Mac and PS4.

The PlayStation 4 version of War Thunder will make its world premiere at Gamescom in Cologne this week, Gaijin Entertainment has announced.

“Sony has been a great partner in bringing War Thunder to PS4, and we are excited to show the console version for the first time this year at Gamescom,” said Kirill Yudintsev, Creative Director at Gaijin Entertainment.

“We have harnessed the power of the PS4 to deliver cutting-edge graphics, cross platform battles with PC players, intelligent personalization and deeply integrated social capabilities to appeal to seasoned players and PlayStation enthusiasts alike.

“More details about the console version will be announced at Gamescom 2013.”

The World War II combat game is currently in open beta on PC, and has been played by over three million users.
