Thief 4 Coming in 2014
Coming to next-gen platforms.
by Keza MacDonald MARCH 5, 2013

Game Informer has revealed Thief 4 in a tease for its April cover story.

"Series hero Garrett returns to the Gothic, industrial metropolis known simply as the City to steal any and everything that will make him richer," reads the summary. Unfortunately, the City is broiling with social tension as it is ravaged by a plague and lorded over by a political tyrant known as the Baron. In order to survive his adventures, Garrett will have to pay attention to his environment and make use of the may possible paths through each of the game's levels."

We knew Thief 4 was coming, but it's been awfully quiet on that front for a long time now. The coverage trailer below reveals the first images of the game.

Thief 4 is coming to PC, PS4 and "other next-gen platforms" in 2014, it would appear. It's been in development for years in Montreal, and series fans have been holding their breath for more information since 2009, when the game was officially announced.

NVIDIA announces PhysX and APEX support for PS4

Heads up, folks. NVIDIA will be invading the PS4 as the company has announced PhysX and APEX support for the recently-announced gaming console. Both PhysX and APEX are software development kits from NVIDIA that will allow game developers to design new PS4 games with stunning graphics, similar to what we saw during the PS4 reveal last month.

NVIDIA’s product manager for PhysX, Mike Skolones, says that “great physics technology is essential for delivering a better gaming experience and multiplatform support is critical for developers,” and “with PhysX and APEX support for PlayStation 4, customers can look forward to better games.” Indeed, both PhysX and APEX should make games more realistic with life-like movements and scenery.

PhysX is designed specifically to be used with hardware acceleration in processors and graphics cards, and the technology allows for more complex and detailed worlds in video games, including more-realistic explosions, clothes that react more naturally to the wind and body movements, and of course, better life-like motions of characters.

Both PhysX and APEX are already integrated into a handful of games. NVIDIA boasts that PhysX alone is featured in more than 150 games, and is used by over 10,000 developers. Some games that are taking advantage of NVIDIA’s technologies include Borderlands 2, the Batman Arkham series, Mirror’s Edge, and Metro 2033.

I didn't say that it made the series better. I said that it made the series more accessible to a wider audience. Capcom doesn't believe that since they've made their recent REs into action games. The action oriented RE games have been quite successful so I think that we'll be seeing more of it. RE 5/6 is only disappointing to people who wanted survival horror, which I didn't.

Why don't you compare RE6 to games that are actually in the same genre? I don't see how saying that a game is better because it's in a genre that you prefer over another. That's just straight up bias.

Uncharted, God Of War, Dead Space, AC, Metal Gear >>> RE 5 & 6

And that's just to name a few.

And it's not straight up bias, the majority of RE fans feel the same way i do. If the action oriented RE's are so successful, then why are they going back to survival horror?

So people like you will stop crying

Yea, that's it.

As of September 30, 2012, Resident Evil 5 has sold 5.9 million copies worldwide since launch, becoming the best selling single release in the series.[80]

Is not because of success it because people refuse to let the past go. Just love to complain even if its a good game all you will hear is "it's not like the old RE"

That's all I'm saying.

Don't know how to post links but you can just google it.

By that logic if that new hack and slash metal gear sold much better than stealth MGS people would have no right to complain it isn't the same game. They just be complaining for nostalgia purposes

RE isn't survival horror anymore. And that kind of sucks.

Battlefield 4 to be unveiled March 26 in San Franciso

Battlefield 4, the next entry in EA DICE's first-person shooter franchise, will be unveiled March 26 at an event in San Francisco, publisher Electronic Arts confirmed to Polygon today.

"Please join us to celebrate a new era of Battlefield," says the company's invitation, which you can see below.

EA DICE officially announced Battlefield 4 last July in a letter to fans on its website, saying, "The team at DICE is hard at work on the next entry in the Battlefield series." The studio also said at the time that it planned to launch a multiplayer beta for the game in fall 2013; anybody who pre-ordered Medal of Honor Warfighter is guaranteed access to the beta.

Last month, EA chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen said Battlefield 4 is in development on PlayStation 4, and said the company's absence from Sony's unveiling of the PS4 was part of its marketing strategy.

"It is just amazing what the imagination of the game developers are allowed to do with that much power," said Jorgensen. Other platforms have not been confirmed at this time, although Frank Gibeau, president of EA Labels, said in February that will be released on next-generation consoles. Gibeau also said EA showed off Battlefield 4 to 500 GameStop store managers, and that it "received a huge ovation."

Battlefield 3 was released in October 2011 on Windows PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. EA DICE is concluding the game's series of five expansion packs this month with End Game.

See how easy that was.

Where did you get that info about how the majority of re fans feel? I think you're lying.

From my understanding, some re fans wanted the re franchise to go back to their roots.

That still has yet to be seen.

I wasn't saying that to say the 5 and 6 are better than the old ones. My favorite is Actually RE2 :pimp:

I posted that because dude asked why are they going back then? And I said its not because 5 and 6 weren't successful because the were actually very successful.

I agree with you those games are good. But just because they switched up for 5 and 6 doesn't mean they are bad games because IMO they aren't. They just aren't like the others.

Could've sworn they were two separate games.
Not anymore,
Final Fantasy XV will be exclusive on PS4

Square-Enix has had problems in the current gen, I suspect that the company couldn’t adapt Final Fantasy and other IPs to the HD era. Moreover, the first version of FF14 was a downfall, this game forced to stop the development of other games to focus in the rebuild of FF14. Really it’s like a new game.

Square-Enix announced Final Fantasy Versus XIII years ago and the game was lost in the limbo. Square decided to halt Versus PS3 development two years ago, but the RPG wasn’t cancelled, why? Two years ago, Square-Enix moved the game to PS4 and Sony got in the project.

Actually Sony is co-developing the game with Square-Enix, therefore, this game will be exclusive on PS4. Square renamed Versus to FF15 in the middle of this process. Sony’s studios are helping SE with FF15 assets among other tasks.

We hinted this PS4 exclusive one month ago, but we couldn’t speak freely about this topic. Now, it’s all that we can say.

Praying to the Sony Gods that a Zone of the Enders 3 comes out on the PS4 :smokin
