The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Smh, I had so many oppurtunities to pre order and I waited and waited and missed out. Cant stand bundles, ESPECIALLY when it wont be a launch system. Im not that annoyed though cause Im not into any of the launch games and there is no backwards compat. Unlike ps3 where I had resistance and madden and was still able to play my ps2 back log so it got heavy use until better games were out. Still hoping I can come accross one though.
walmart.com has the killzone "Bundle."

So would it be better to get a bundle or just preorder the system itself? I wanna get the preorder the killzone bundle but would I be wasting money on some unnecessary stuff by getting the bundle?

I was unimpressed.
It's convenient to an extent.
But this would just lead me to make more impulse purchases.

THIS
and i'm one of those "i need empty space on my harddrive for no reason whatsoever" type of guy looks like i'm also purchasing a terabyte drive to swap out the 500GB on day 1 for the impulse purchases someone mentioned

i know i'm a weirdo

Same. I have to delete **** when space is running out like I got anxiety.

IMO, waste. If you can find just the system pre-order, do it. Then tell me where so I can too.

Dont do bundles, never have extras I need, plus it doesnt ship till the end of the year. COMPLETE waste for me.

walmart is out of preorders so...it doesn't matter anymore.

You can still reserve a console from their website, but it'll depend on your local walmart's ps4 stock.

The bundle includes an extra controller. There are very few ppl who have never had to buy another controller.
Walmart ships it on 11/15.

Also complaining about that even if it were valid is ridiculous.

When companies like amazon, sony, etc have been taking preorders weeks ago.

Again walmart ships their preorders on 11/15 just like everyone else.

As I already stated above, walmart is out of preorders, so of course they'd ship by that date.

Amazon did the same thing.

I think you're the one that can't read.

No you cant, like you didnt see the part about me SAYING I missed out. That bundle was AVAILABLE yesterday to pre order and it STILL said 12/31. If it shipped on rel date Id of bought and sold the controller. As I said before and you cant understand, dont like bundles to begin with and especially if its not shipping out asap.

Does what?

I think he means remote downloads.

I bought Assassins Creed 3 on xbox.com while i was at the barbershop. Texted my dad to turn on the 360, and it was done when i got back.

Since both next gen consoles have the low power state feature, i already assumed remote downloads was going to be possible for both without having to turn on the console. Assuming they are always online.

XBox One also allows you to download game while away from your console...

while the PS4 eye has voice recognition....

These consoles are the same.

Yep. Only reason I'm copping the PS4 over a XBone is Infamous. I like that series then I currently like Dead Rising and Halo.

^PS3 has something similar as well but It's not exactly the same.

On the PSN webstore I can buy a game and set it to download. When I turn my PS3 on, either by itself or at 4am when it turns on to download updates it stars downloading the game automatically.

With this, the difference is that it's through the PSN app on your phone and it switches the PS4 as soon as you buy it, starts downloading it and switches it off once it's finished downloading.
The PS4 also has an extra chip that helps with this and stuff like automatic updates so that it doesn't interfere with whatever your're currently running

It's an improvement of a feature we already have now, but are people not allowed to get excited over new features?

It's like you took over Rusty's shift while he's away.

I'M SURE THEY'RE STILL TRYNA DO THEIR BEST TO RELEASE X1 BEFORE 11/15.

For this to be such a PS4 thread.. you sure do spend a lot of time Talking about M$... *Kanye Shrug* If your always talking bout the competition they must be doing something right.. IJS

Just so the irony of this post isnt lost on anyone.

Sony Detail Gaikai Plans - Launching Next Year In US, Coming To PS3 Too

In an interview with EDGE Online, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s CEO Jim Ryan has explained the Gaikai situation, stating that it will launch at first in North America in 2014 on PS4, before heading to Vita and even PS3.

He said, speaking about why Gaikai wasn’t talked about during Sony’s Gamescom conference:

Yeah sure and I’ll tell you why is wasn’t touched upon last night. So the plan is to begin with North America next year and the plan is to provide a streaming service that will allow for PS3 content initially to be streamed to firstly PS4 then PS Vita and then PS3.

Ryan went on to say “that will happen in 2014 in North America initially” before highlighting the poor broadband speeds in Europe, which he says is “on the roadmap” for Gaikai, though they don’t quite have a timeline for it yet. Since Gamescom is for primarily the European audience, that’s why it wasn’t mentioned during the conference.

He followed up that “there’s just a few bumps along the road that need to be ironed out” in regards to the European launch and that while it’ll be “early-ish” 2014 for the US, he has “nothing to say yet” on a date for Europe.

It’s a great interview in full, and he discusses Sony’s plan for “saving” the Vita, as well as the fun they had at Microsoft’s expense during the show.
