The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

www.ign.com www.gamespot.com both of these sites carry more than just PS4 information, maybe you should try to do some research of your own.

I already follow game news as you can probably tell.

You replied to me saying I should do more research on the Kinect 2 when I said it won't improve sport or FPS games like you know something I don't.

No point calling me out if you can't back up what you have to say.

The only reason i think the Xbox was the headline console for sports franchises was because it was easier to develop for than the PS3 with its architecture. So we ended up getting ports of the game (ie why earlier Maddens seemed to run a lot smoother on the 360 side). With both systems having the same architecture this go around and the PS4 with more power its very possible the games will be basically the same or even that the PS4 will have the better/smoother version.  Who knows though we will just have to wait and see. Of course M$ is still going to be the ideal place if you're a huge CoD fan though. Thats not going to change.

Also me and my friends were having a discussion about this the other night.  Besides sports and CoD/shooters what else is so appealing about the Xbox? I've always felt Sony definitely has the software edge which is more important to me than the actual box itself. Not meaning to bash M$/Xbox by any means (actually want to get a X1 later just w/o a Kinect). What's you guys opinions?

I think a lot of you PS4 guys are trying to justify your purchase by downplaying the potential the X1 has. I'm cool with that. I made the decision to go with all three system this gen just like last gen because I hate missing out on anything - I'm a gamer plain and simple.

You can't come out in 6 months and spam the PS4 thread with, "My PS4 is collecting dust while I'm over here playing Lococycle to death on my X1!!!!" without actually owning a PS4, so this makes sense.

If you can honestly say you think Kinect 2.0 has potential, XBox 1 has potencial, but Vita TV does not.... I think we can all pretty much read into your thought process.

I could be wrong though. Hence why I said, "I think". Continue to go hard over stupid things though, don't stop at my expense.

:wow: That link has revealed absolutely nothing!

So... that link doesn't show that Microsoft specifically mentioned being in a special relationship with EA? It doesn't show that the Xbox One will be receiving exclusive content from any of those titles this year? You got it bro.

I'm a gamer too, and have considerable financial means to purchase whatever I want. But, I don't particularly care about features that are not gaming related. And I can honestly say that Xbox historically has not exclusives that appeal to me at all.

Chris I bought my VITA to be on the Go.. I have no intention of playing that damn thing on my T.V. - That doesn't mean I don't rock with what Sony is doing.. I honestly cannot WAIT to play Madden on the Go... Connected Franchise anywhere!?!? = Amazing. Same with 2K14. So I'm pretty sure my thought process isn't what you are thinking. I generally go with what I find more appealing, I've already taken my reserve off of Madden X1 and put it on PS4.

Good for you.

Buy 1 PS4.

Buy 2 or 3 Vita TV's.

Play PSVita, PSN, and PS4 games anywhere in your home on any TV, as well as stream Hulu, Netflix, ect. Chromecast doesnt come to Canada so this is big for me.

You go on a trip where you would normally bring your PS4. You now just toss this tiny box and a DS3 in your bag and can use it anywhere with a tv and an internet connection.

Down the line when Gaikai is introduced, this thing potentially becomes a $99.99 digital PS3.

It doesnt replace Vita, it compliments it. It just offers more options. So although it may not be for you, this thing could be a very popular device if marketed correctly. And more importantly, works as advertised.

I personally dont see a benefit for Kinect 2.0 in how I play games. I dont need voice recognition or motion controls, ect. However, somebody, somewhere may come up with a killer game or application that may sell me on it. So even though it is not for me, I can't deny it's potential. The technology is impressive, I just havent found interest in how its currently applied.

With all this play while downloading and remote play, how soon until we see a Netflix like service for instant streaming games? Or is that what gaikai is aiming to be? Bc that sounds like a great future for gaming

Oh the irony.
You're still yet to prove wrong after saying I didn't do my research.

If you think Kinect will take you from this

to this then I have bad news for you

That's what PS+ and Gaikai will eventually become.

There is no concrete proof yet, but its looking like that will be happening in 2014. Gaikai has been ramping up staff.

This is taken directly from their site.

Truth is, the future has never looked brighter. We're working hard with Sony Computer Entertainment to advance our cloud gaming platform, and we can't wait to unveil the next generation of it to you.

You know something we don't :nerd:?

My thoughts exactly, I agree kinect has potential just as i thought drm did but I think microsoft is too early with this kind of tech, cloud based gaming is cool but other then the states the rest of the world isnt ready for it; however I can see it being used after this next-gen.

My problem with kinect and xbox one is 1) kinect not being practical for gaming and many of the features they've announced I just feel are gimmicky. 2) I dont want or need an all in one entertainment system.

This might change a year or two down the road but what gets me is that in all the interviews regarding their policy changes they've talked about the possibilities of putting drm back in. I will not be surprised to see it come back once the x1 has sold x amount of units.

Never tried to downplay anything....tbh the gap between the systems are small hardware specs wise. Which is why I said I value software more than anything.  X1 actually has a few games I wouldn't mind playing like Ryse, Titanfall, and KI. I had a Wii alongside my PS3 this gen and will probably pick up a WiiU when Smash drops. Why would anyone bother getting a Wii or a WiiU when Sony and M$ are "better?" one thing ==> the software you can't get anywhere else like Mario/Smash Bros/Zelda etc. That's the only point I was making. 360 just didn't have enough game variety to me....does that mean the X1 wont? No...we'll have to see but as of now I'm comfortable with the experiences Sony has offered

Word.

People always assume hate, instead of personal preference.

Titanfall looks insane, but that alone is not making me buy a system.  If Microsoft drops killer exclusives that appeal to me, I'm all over it, but they honestly haven't.

"If I don't like it, I don't like it, that don't mean that I'm hatin' "

At the end of the day it's just more variety with Sony IMO.

Titanfall looks dope no question. But nothing else on the Xbox one is something I'm geeked to play.

And they are so worried about getting all the content for the 3rd party games that they ignore their own games.

But that's just my opinion. But I honestly can't tell you the last Xbox exclusive that I was geeked to play.

I loved Left for Dead tho. Easily one of the funnest games I've ever played. :pimp:

I'm really interested in Sunset Overdrive on the X1, because I love Insomniac Games and the Ratchet & Clank series. The ridiculous weapons remind me of Ratchet and the open world parkour reminds me of Jet Set Radio minus the rollerblades.

Hopefully it does well on the X1. It looks more like a game you would find on a PlayStation. It would be a shame if it got cannibalized by Call of Duty players who don't want to play other games.

I think people are trying to justify their Xbone purchase by saying Ryse looks good. That game looks like ****. Xbone just doesn't have a system seller right now for me.

I can play Titanfall on PC, or wait for it to come to PS4. Halo without Bungie is an easy pass.

Add the fact that we haven't seen games from 3 of Sony's big time studios (Naughty Dog, SSM, and Polyphony(admittedy Polyphony''s debut will be a long ways off) and it's clear to me the PS4 is the way to go.

I am hoping for RTS games to make their return to consoles, maybe implementing the touchpad on the DS4, or just give me a keyboard and mouse.  Make it happen blizzard with legacy of the void
