The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I was more excited for the FF7 remaster than any game in a long time..

but that updated battle system and the idea of multiple telltale installments is a HUGE letdown for me :smh:

Still hoping for the best but the latest news on it is a bummer..

Great job on these so far.
So hyped for this game.
In the interview Nomura mentioned to pay attention to the ATB gauge when it turns red.... notice the limit break bar on the far right is empty; now in the trailer (1:16 mark) when Cloud is slashing at the enemy, the ATB gauge on the left builds up (also it slowly goes down in between attacks). I wonder if these moves that they're using is like a "finisher" at the end of the combo and maybe the limit breaks are something we haven't seen yet. Maybe when it becomes red, it's like a "cool down" period before attacking again

I think episodic was the wrong word to use in the translation. Installments is probably the right word but we'll see. I expect 3 installments, 30-40 hours each on a normal playthrough and maybe more for the completionists

I also think it would have been a missed opportunity to keep the battle system the same. We have the OG game for the ATB battle system.

This having it's own battle system plus the improvements to the game and all the other things they say they will add makes it a true remake and not a remaster IMO

I still think they are limit breaks since you get the same orange glow before the start of the attack
I like the ATB bar decreasing when you don't attack. It means you have to be constantly on the attack so each battle should have a good flow to it.

Giving how you control all 3 party members, switching characters will probably be key to the battle since I won't trust AI to manage the ATB gauge as well or to use the Limit Breaks, if they can at all.

So far so good. It's staying true to the og game while being fresh.
Electronic Arts Inc Plummets 5% as GameStop Slashes Star Wars Price

GameStop is said to cut as much as $20 for Star Wars Battlefront
Bad News for Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA) as shares of the video game provider are tumbling down in the intra-day trading today, after retailer GameStop cut the price of "Star Wars Battlefront," the action shooter game published by EA.

EA stock is trading for $67.3, as of 12:40 PM EST, down nearly 5.5% from yesterday’s close. Since January, shares are up 44%, while broader market has only risen over 6% in the same time frame.

GameStop has not confirmed when it would enforce the new price. For now, SW Battlefront sells for the same $59.99 price at retailers. Meanwhile, the physical disc of the game is also being sold for $59.99 at other stores, including Best Buy and Target.

Price cut already in effect on Amazon

I'm just nervous I won't like the new battle system I guess...

hopefully we are able to purchase all installments in one physical purchase eventually

The optional tombs are a little more difficult in ROTR. I wish it had MP. Game is very dope tho.

I played some UC last night, the jeep chase was lit. I was pretty bored with it but that got me into it. I can't wait to get up to part 2, everyone praises that one.

It's going to be 2-3 years until part one. Right now it's looking like 4 parts.

WoW.

Would the other installments take less time to develop in your opinion since the bulk of the assets for the game would have already been built already?

Similar to how FFXIII-2 didn't take as long to develop as FFXIII.

Different teams will be working on different parts. I say WILL because no one is working on them yet. I would expect them to quicken after part one since the majority of the mechanics will be in place. They want to crank them out 1 year at a time once all the teams get up and running but that's something new for SE. They've never been able to accomplish that before in the HD generation. This is why they're using Unreal 4. Basically because they will be able to use that iteration of the engine throughout this entire generation and not worry about multiple teams working on it since most everyone in the industry is familiar with Unreal.

The plan is to have all pieces out by the end of the PS4 life-cycle. VR is being heavily considered for some things. Gameplay will "evolve" as each part comes out. Right now barley anything is done. Not even all the character models have been finalized. If there's no delays it's an 8 year plan on paper. There will be delays, so it's safe to assume the complete collection (which I'm sure will have further tweaks) will be out in 10 years. If you put a gun to my head and asked me when I think part one is coming I would say fall 2018.

Realistically they can choose to "end" the parts whenever they want just to get a product out. I know the points on where they're thinking about cutting it but it's very fluid. That's why this is getting broken up, they're a public company and have to get product out the door. Hype can only last so long and a game that's been in the making for 10 years will have so many harsh criticisms that could have been fixed during the dev process. So you'll get part one, they'll take your feedback, make adjustments, part 2, make adjustments etc.

Expect same same sort of life-cycle with XV as well.

Damn, well I guess putting out the best in each disc will make the game great so I can understand. XV will be fine for now.

PS stans are SOOOOOO delusional
First hyping up an announcement show
With some wack announcements which everyone is basically overlooking
Pretending they're not disappointed
Coulda sworn gow 4 and plenty other were SUPPOSE to be announced at ps experience
Not to mention the only 2 decent announcements
While good
One of them(ff7)
Will IMO be a disappointment and real talk
I don't think it's ever even gonna come out
The ps4 may be a top seller system wise
But game wise as an exclusive platform
Something is definitely left on the table to be desired
Well at least games will release I guess
Ps4 is the best looking console ever
So I guess that's something to be proud of
#sortahavegamesnow

No one overlooked anything. We stated this was a terrible show. No one is delusional.
