Yea well a site as reputable as GS won't just post some B.S. I'm pretty sure there is some truth to it. You guys might not want the camera but making it a required item with each console sale opens up a world of possibilities for devs. I personally have one reserved because I think there will be some very interesting things done with the EYE as will as the Kinect. Also, I'm pretty sure Sony is losing money with every console sold - so the 499 price tageis well beyond reasonable.
Its not as crazy as you guys are so trying to make it out to be.

Yea the same Europe that the Xbox One has the free FORZA with every console sold? You and I both know damn well Sony is offering that sweet *** deal to compete with what M$ is doing. Don't try to use that as a basis to compare pricing in the US.

There's also a free FIFA bundle as well and that is THE most popular sport over there. I'm sure NO ONE one in Europe would agree that a solid but still generic shooter like Killzone could compete with the likes of FIFA.

killzone is an exclusive, so it's obvious why sony bundled that game.

Still not sure what your point was there. But ok. I honestly think its helps the Killzone franchise that it IS exclusive. I don't see that title doing very well multiplatform, esp not against the likes of Battle Filed and COD

after the whole Kain and Lynch fiasco ?I believe Sony said on gametrailers (ep-Jack Trenton drops the mic) the price was agreed on months before E3, but they were not sure if it was lower than MS.

I dont think they knew the exact price, but they probably had an idea of the general range. But I do believe that they got rid of the eye to lower the price. Why would you design a controller to work with a camera and then not include a camera, basically sending the product to die?

I didnt say it was gonna be 499. I dont know what it wouldve been .Couldve beem 450, or whatever. But a $100 difference is a lot more appealing to the eye than a $50 one. Dont get me wrong, I think it was a smart move because I dont think it wouldve been better than the kinect 2 and Sony's strategy is different than microsofts

Your acting like the console COSTS 399 to make, Sony is losing money per console. A $499 price point with the camera would make perfect sense from a manufacture stand point.

consumers dont care about the manufacturing standpoint which is exactly what sony realizes
it seems sony realized a lot stuff that that other company didnt

Its the exact same situation as last gen, when X360 made Hard drives "optional" to undercut the PS3 price and in return they semi crippled what devs could do. Sony didn't "realize" anything, they saw a way to gain an "advantage" and they took it. Truth be told if the EYE was mandatory you along with all the rest of the fanboys would talk about how glorious it is. You can be blind but don't be stupid. Sony has HUGE plans for the Playstation Eye - yet the way you and a few others talk about it, its simply an "afterthought".
Logic defies you. Even "I" have the PS Eye reserved because I'm almost positive it'll play a HUGE role in Sony's future plans.Just like "Achievements" were kiddie until you dudes got "Trophies" then all of a sudden they were awesome.
Just like "Party Chat" was useless and if you wanted to a group of your friends you'd just call them. UNTIL all of a Sudden PS gets it and its "TEH MOST AMAZING THING EVER"
Just like BUT PSN IS FREE... Even though Xbox live still proved to have a better overall experience. Then Sony announces PS4 would require a subscription and all of a sudden its "ok cuz Sony said so"...
Like its cool to blindly follow but damn at least see the obvious
