The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Lol @ 1080p for the enthusiast. You might as well throw out your nice tv and buy a pos "1080i" toshiba and travel back in time to 2005.

I stand by what I said. If a person complains that ryse is upped to 900p yet still looks beautiful, they're an enthusiast.

If we were talking about PS3/360 games I'd agree with you 100%. But we're not, I this is 2013, 1080p has become the standard. And with Blu-ray most know what 1080p is now. We're talking about the PS4 and Xbox One. Microsoft can't talk all this stuff about 'the cloud' and 'not allowing a 30% power advantage to their competitors' and allow this to happen.

/\ cosign. Aint nobody buying a NEXT GEN system to play on LAST GEN graphics.

If papi only cares about playing the next COD, he might as well stick to an Xbox 360. SRS. He won't notice a difference. Buying Next Gen is for the Enthusiast.

Sony: PS4 already has 24 Exclusives (14 studios working on them)

Today, Sony released a new PlayStation 4 commercial (vid in link) that makes some interesting claims about PlayStation 4’s library of games. With murmurings suggesting that PS4’s launch/first year lineup is a bit soft – especially in the wake of DriveClub’s delay -- this commercial seems to nip some of the criticism in the bud.

For starters, the ad states that 24 PlayStation 4-exclusive games have been announced so far. The biggest of the bunch are undoubtedly Killzone: Shadow Fall, Infamous: Second Son, and The Order: 1886.

Sony's ad also notes that 14 “award winning studios” are making PlayStation 4 games. This is no doubt a reference to its robust first party developer roster, which includes the likes of Sucker Punch (Infamous), Media Molecule (LittleBigPlanet), Guerrilla Games (Killzone), Sony Santa Monica (God of War) and more.

Finally, the commercial notes that over 180 games are currently in development for PlayStation 4, “more than any other next-gen console.”

At Gamescom, Sony noted that 180 games were in development for PS4, and revealed 33 of them that would be available before the end of 2013.

Dang X1 takes a big hit if that is true about Ghost... X1 can't hit 1080p on all games because of the complicated ram lol23 more days!!

New hardware.. expect greater results are we move forward. Highly doubt this is as big as most making it. Does it hurt MS? Yes. But next year with more time with the system everything should be on par

You're going to have to walk me through this. Ghosts is a cross-gen game. It should be easy to reach 1080p. Now what's going to happen when these games go full on next gen with the graphical effects, upgraded engines, what- have-you? The resolution is then going to increase for the Xbone? How can it be on par in a year when the PS4 is more powerful and easier to develop on? The gap is just going to get wider.

Any idea on when The Order is coming out? I thought late 2014 but the game looks to be pretty far along.

No confirmation yet but my guess is Summer, latest fall.

If Sony is aiming for a AAA game every quarter then this would be it for Summer after inFAMOUS earlier in the year.

Shuhei Yoshida: Colored DualShock 4 Controllers Coming to the US "Soon", but Not Before PS4's Launch

The DualShock 4 has been showcased with two additional colors beyond the usual black: Magma Red and Wave Blue. Unfortunately no release date has been mentioned for the two colored controllers yet.

Just yesterday we reported that Canadian GameStop stores are already selling the controller, but only the black version.

SCE Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida just responded to a series of tweets by a few fans (that can be found here, here and here), mentioning that the two colored controllers will indeed be released in North America soon, but they won’t be be available before the console’s launch.
