The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

The Sony headquarters is 5 min away from my house. If only they sold them to the public.

TOMBRADYISTHEGOAT

Dude sends me some of the most random and offensive messages on PSN and I just never respond. I remember getting a message from him being like

"I know who you work for and it doesn't matter because whatever you're working on sucks compared to Fallout 3"

I should have taken a picture of the messages I received. I logged on after being away for a week and had 14 unread messages about how "The Process of Belief Sucks!" Him of course thinking that was the band and not an album....

Alright now this is going to piss me off. This is the main reason PS4 was going to be my console of choice this gen. Sony is showing those true colors again :rolleyes

Remote Play on PS4 might not work if you leave the house

Realize the full potential of your Vita...but only when you're at home.

In addition to confirming the PlayStation 4 launch title list and nixing the idea of external storage, the PS4 FAQ posted on the PlayStation blog today has an interesting recommendation regarding Remote Play: you should only use the service if you're staying home.

Remote Play is a feature that allows Vita owners to access their PS4 and play games on the handheld over WiFi. Of course, Remote Play works now on PlayStation 3, but only with a few PS3 titles. According to Sony, "...most PS4 titles will support Remote Play unless the title requires a special peripheral like PlayStation Camera."

However, Sony also says that, "We strongly recommend that Remote Play be used within the same WiFi network where PS4 is connected."

The explanation is that Remote Play functions better when you keep it in the same network, and Sony adds: "We also recommend that PS4 be connected to the local area network via an Ethernet cable, that a router suitable for gaming be used, and that the PS Vita system be within close proximity of the WiFi access point so that the connection is free of interference."

That doesn't mean Remote Play won't work on an outside network, but you may run into some issues. Sony says, "For Remote Play to function over a wide area network, a robust and stable WiFi connection and broadband Internet connection is required, and the local area network where PS4 is connected must be configured to permit the PS Vita system to access PS4."

While the possibility of playing every game in your library on a handheld that Remote Play promised way back at the launch of the PS3 is pretty exciting, the fact that it might not work once you leave home is a little disappointing.

 Who still uses Ethernet cables ? :smh:

Sony needs to stop announcing/releasing stuff if it isn't 100% functional / ready at launch. We cant miss what we don't know about.

So basically it's only useful if you need to take a @#$% but can't be bothered to hit pause for a few minutes?

I wasn't planning on using this function anyway, but it's definitely @#$@$@ up to misinform and drag in customers with half-true claims
