This here is the truth. I own both systems and enjoy them both equally. People that hope another system fails will be regretting it when they see little improvements if there is only one console on the market. Look at madden for example. You think the ps4 or xbox one would be coming out with all these updates so quickly if they were the only system out?

I diagree, Nintendo and Sony era was the best time in gaming. They were focused on creating the most innovative and creative games to win the consumer over. When Microsoft entered the picture, they introduced a lot of rotten business practices that nickel and dime the consumer to no end. Ever since, every game company (Ubisoft, EA, Activision) followed suit and lead us to the state that we're in right now. Timed exclusives, DLC, Season Passes, "Getting games a day earlier", Advertisements on your console, etc. The list is massive.

If the PS4 kicks the xbone's *** it's up to MS to look at what went wrong with xbone and use that to make their next console better. Or, if they want, they can give up the whole console business. Some other company could step in, who knows.

I agree they don't have to sell the same. I just hope they don't throw in the towel and that they keep improving the xbox one and make another system to compete with the next playstation as well.

I actually preferred the ps1 era when you had sega and nintendo breathing down sony's back. They weren't super competitive, but they were there. Well, N64 was doing fine, but sega saturn was dead in the water towards the end. Shame because originally I wanted a Sega Saturn and decided on a Playstation instead after a neighbor got it. PS1 had many more classics, to me at least, than ps2 did.

Yeah, 90% of gamers would say the PS1/Nintendo 64 era was the best and that didn't include Microsoft. I think if Microsoft leaves the industry, we would start seeing companies focus more on creativity and innovation instead of greed.

My bad if that sounded harsh, no disrespect was meant. My point was these systems all have features that the other had first. Hard drives, party chat, camera peripherals, etc. Competition pushes these companies to do better.

Yeah, I don't think Bloodborne is a game that this board will find appealing, but I could be wrong. I really love the setting, character/enemy design and the atmosphere but I'm scared that they might have casualized it a bit. Still have high hopes though.

It's too bad that a photo-mode probably isn't feasible for BloodBorne, because it looks gorgeous. Idk... Perhaps in an offline mode.

Just watched it. Here's a few thoughts.

- It looks fantastic. The setting and environment are like the perfect next step after the medieval world of the Souls games.

- Something about this really reminds me of the early levels in Resident Evil 4. That's a gigantic plus.

- The movement of the werewolves was so eerie. Was that another player joining him or an NPC?

- Does this game have an equivalent to bonfires?

Anyone here familiar with hard drive formatting?

I know the PS4 reads Fat32, will windows 7 still recognize Fat32? I was planning to use the 500GB as an external but I didn't wanna dedicate all the space strictly for the PS4.

Yea, Windows 7 recognizes FAT32. You can use the disk manager to partition the disk so that you can have for example, 100GB FAT32 AND 400GB NTFS.
I did this for an external drive that I had and only the FAT32 partition shows up when you connect it.

That was for the PS3 though. Not much use for externals at the moment except for playroom and share factory.

This. They don't have to be neck and neck in sales. PS2 kicked everything else and I didn't hear much complaints about that gen.
PS4 is beating the bone handily but Sony can't be complacent. They've done a lot right to get in the position they're in now but it's not a whitewash. MS have done really well with their updates recently and you'd expect them to being a software company. It would definitely push Sony to get move on with their updates too but it's going to do nothing for the sales of the console.

I remember Demon Souls being talked about a lot back in the old PS3 thread. I think there's quite a few people here who has the plat for it.

Found a YT video that showed me the steps. Windows only recognizes 32GB Fat 32 so I'll just make 3 32s FAT and the rest NTFS.

I'm not a fan of MS exclusives myself either. I can't think of any MS franchises that were big on the 360 besides halo and gears. And at least with Sony and the PS3 there was a nice variety to choose from like little big planet to heavy rain

man Gears of War is what made me buy the 360 when i couldnt get my hands on a PS3. ripping through the enemies with the chainsaw, controller vibrating and the blood splatter! that was it for me though. i prefer the SONY exclusives..


after playing the Destiny Beta and reading the comparisons to Halo and all that maybe i could of enjoyed that too (never had interest in Halo before). but i wont be buying another system just for the remaster, ill stick with my PS4 and Destiny..

Every gameplay vid i watched, dudes were going for it on 4th and long in their half. I know its probably a demo, but its just so outrageous how dudes play this game, and are okay with it. Everyone running using west coast offense, pass after pass after pass.

I'll wait on more reviews on Madden, I fell for Madden 25th b/c I wanted football on my PS4 on release, but it was awful and ended up being the first games I traded in, no actually KZ Shadow Fall was the first traded in. I haven't enjoyed a Madden since the year they introduced the hit stick.
