The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I think The Division is a great game.
ohwell.gif

Alot of the criticisms in this thread are absolutely valid, but I don't think take enough away from the experience.

End game content is lacking right now, but I am willing to give it a month or two.

The thrill of the DZ is unlike any game I have encountered. Rolling up with 3 other friends to extract some high level gear and you see another group of 4.

You KNOW they are going to try and kill you when you go to extract... but you side with your belief that they just want to get their gear out and will leave you alone.

Someone shoots, one group goes rogue, and it's mayhem.

Either you're dead and swearing revenge, killed a few and become rogue so you're high-tailing it out, or you escaped the violence and are trying to find a new extraction zone.

Anyone see this news about cross Network play?

Xbox will "natively supporting cross-platform play between Xbox One and Windows 10 games that use Xbox Live, we’re enabling developers to support cross-network play as well. This means players on Xbox One and Windows 10 using Xbox Live will be able to play with players on different online multiplayer networks – including other console and PC networks."

Things must be looking bleak for Xbox HQ.

"Just because you're friends are buying a PS4 doesn't mean you have to!"

I'm curious as to how all of this will play out though. I'm sure you won't be able to add Xbox people on to your friend's list right?

Yeah, I'd like to think that you'd simply be able to play with other players on different platforms...But we'll see.

All I know is, PC folks are going to be pwning all day lol

from what i read it stated that developers would have to implement it into their games. Also, xbox users can turn that feature off and only play with xbox players. If done right it can totally change the dynamics of the console wars. most people i know are xboxers but since a lot of people jumped on the ps4 because it was cheaper and out first they decided to get it to play games with their friends. Now they might not have to do that for future titles.

What's up with games nowadays putting dogs and canines in action games and allowing them to be killed? That **** isn't cool.

I'm probably late but what is going on with Hitman? You have to pay $60 and you get 1 level each month? Lulwut

Has anyone else had this kind of internet speed issue with PSN on the PS4.

I had to rebuild the PS4 database and restore defaults in order to improve my download & upload speeds. I was getting only 1.5 MB down and 1.7 up.

Both while I was on the latest firmware 3.15 and before I went on the firmware 3.50 beta.

After I rebuilt the PS4 database, restored defaults, and uninstalled firmware 3.50 beta. I'm now getting 20MB down and 3MB up.

Also when I was having slow speeds on my PS4, when I would run NETFLIX on the PS4 it would throttle my internet and I couldn't load pages on my laptop.

My ISP is Time Warner Cable and the ISP plan is 40MB down & 6MB up.

I am using a wi-fi connection on the PS4. The router in my place is to far and can't be moved in order for me to run a wired connection.

Yeah they wen't for the episodic release.

You can buy the intro pack, which is the beta training level missions and the first episode which is Paris for $15 and upgrade later to get the other episodes.IO is planning on releasing six more episodes until fall this year and then release the disc version in January or early 2017.

I've been reading the thread on NEOGAF and a lot of say people re play ability is high, but there are bad long loading issues with the servers which is bad because the game relies on a constant internet connection for a lot of the game modes like: contract, escalation mode, and other challenges. Also they were stupid and didn't lock the frame rate on the game at 30fps and people have complained about screen tearing and other issues. You have to go into the game display settings and select "frame lock" for the game to run smooth.

I played the beta and honestly played it for hours and saw the replay ability in the game.

It's a damn SHAME IO went this route and released the game like this.

Here's the trailer for the next episode coming out next month:
SQUARE ENIX OFFICIALLY TITLES NEW RPG PROJECT: I AM SETSUNA
Today Square Enix revealed I Am Setsuna, a debut game the Japanese publisher is planning to release this summer from a new internal studio.

Formerly called Project Setsuna, the game and its new studio, called Tokyo RPG Factory, were announced at E3 2015. A press release from SE says Setsuna will use a battle system similar to the lauded ‘90s classic RPG, Chrono Trigger. The development team is being led by director Atsushi Hashimoto. Hashimoto previously worked as director on Final Fantasy Explorers. Hashimoto also was a planner on Kid Icarus Uprising for Nintendo 3DS.

According to SE, Tokyo RPG Factory is a new studio that aims to use the inspiring character development and storytelling from the golden era of Japanese RPGs and bring them to modern hardware and technology. I Am Setsuan is scheduled for release in the west this Summer on PlayStation 4 and Steam.

I don't see it happening anytime soon if ever.

Excited for this.

This is already out in Japan btw but unlike over there, there's no Vita release in the west. :smh:

I heard this is because of Rocket League

PlayStation Vue Goes Nationwide, Starting at $29.99 in New Markets

Many of you have been patiently waiting for PlayStation Vue to come to your city, and today we’re pleased to announce that PlayStation Vue is making its nationwide debut. We’re expanding the service to the rest of the U.S. to give our fans a better way to watch popular live and on-demand TV from top networks like AMC, ESPN, Comedy Central, Cartoon Network, and more, using PlayStation Vue’s unique streaming features.

We’re kicking off this launch with our new Slim multi-channel plans that are available in the 203 newly launched markets. Here are the prices for these new plans — all are offered with a free seven-day trial.

 • Access Slim: 55+ channels, including live cable TV, movies, and sports channels for $29.99 per month.

 • Core Slim: 70+ channels, including all the channels from Access Slim with the addition of national and regional sports networks for $34.99 per month.

 • Elite Slim: 100+ channels, featuring all the channels from Core Slim with the addition of more top movie and entertainment channels for $44.99 per month.
With an Internet connection and a PlayStation Vue TV-connected device, there are no hidden fees or long-term contracts for PlayStation Vue.

Some of you may be wondering, what’s the difference between Slim and our standard multi-channel plans available in previously launched cities (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, and Miami)? Slim plans are only available in the newly launched markets and will offer all of the same live cable channels as the standard PlayStation Vue plans. However, ABC, FOX and NBC will offer video-on-demand (VOD)-only content. This means you’ll be able to access top network content, including primetime shows, from the three broadcast networks. Most on-demand content will be available within 24 hours after airing. CBS live and on-demand programming will also be added to select cities at a later date.

We’re working to add local broadcast stations to your city, which will add live, local programing to the channel lineup. You can find more information on plans in your city here: www.psvue.com

Users can take advantage of PlayStation Vue’s unique TV streaming features, including the following:

 • Cloud DVR — PlayStation Vue’s unmatched cloud DVR allows users to record hundreds of shows at once and store thousands of hours of content.

 • Simultaneous Streaming — a single PlayStation Vue subscription allows users to simultaneously stream content across different devices.

 • Powerful Interface — this seamlessly blends live and on-demand content to put top programming front and center, with innovative search and discovery tools. You can also “catch up” on many popular programming within the past three days from a show’s first live airing.

In addition, users can also access programming from more than 60 network mobile apps or websites, simply by logging in with their PlayStation Network ID. The mobile apps and websites are developed by network programmers and are a separate offering from PlayStation Vue, but can be used at no additional cost.

Users can access PlayStation Vue through PS4, PS3, Amazon Fire TV, and Fire TV Stick, as well as iPad and iPhone through the PlayStation Vue mobile app. Google Chromecast is also supported via compatible iOS devices.

We’re excited about this expansion, and can’t wait to share more news about our future plans for PlayStation Vue.

I was interested in PS Vue but I dont think they offer local channels in my area. I need CBS and FOX for football.

There is crossplay with PS and PC already with such games as SFV and FFXIV.

Yea the news is about MS allowing cross play with console platforms as well like PSN.

It's up to the devs and off course Sony so I don't see it happening at all. Too many road blocks in place.

I'm not excited for cross play yet cuz how will you add people from other consoles there is a gap in it capability to me

Yeah PS Vue won't appeal & attract people who want to watch NBA, NFL, MLB and college sports games live.

There are still local market blackout rules which the big networks (CBS,NBC, ABC, FOX, and ESPN) and cable TV & Satellite TV providers won't never give up. Even if you have NFL Sunday Ticket, NBA League Pass, MLB Extra innings, all paid services that let you watch all of the out of market games but won't let you watch your local home team games.
