The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Eh I don't see myself upgrading unless my PS4 craps out. I got a 2TB HDD and it works fine. It's a little loud but I hardly ever notice it. There'd have to be something significant about it for me to consider upgrading.
id just remove my 2TB HDD and replace it with the old 500 GB and resell it to cut down on the cost for the PS4k and then swap in the 2TB HDD

bring it on, ps4k, vr

So they're making a PS4 Slim LOL...................oh c'mon guys, you know what I mean.  They did this same move with the original PS3, where they would end up making a slim "PS 3.5" that had better hardware features.

So are we gonna be able to use the PS3 move controllers for this or will Sony come out with new ones? Will all the PS3 attachments still work (like the gun attachments, steering wheel, etc.)?

Yea PS3 Move controllers are compatible and so is the sharpshooter.

Interesting.
Kotaku are normally good for leaks but I'm still a bit skeptical.

I don't see Sony putting in a GPU to support 4K games. All you need to do is search for GPU's that can support 4K on PC's and you'll see that they're all very expensive. They'll also need to change the CPU to not be a bottle neck.
I don't see it being for VR as well since PS VR is coming out this year and Sony's positioned to lead the high end VR race because of the PS4's install base.

Games barely running 60 fps on 1080p though...

It's all design choice on fixed hardware

I put my PS4 in rest mode the other day and when I tried to turn it back on it didn't work.

The DS4 wouldn't work and I tried resetting the system by holding the power button for 7 seconds but that didn't work either.

I had to physically pull the power cable from the PS4 in order to turn it back on again.

Has this happened to anyone else, and is there a better solution to this problem than pulling the power cable?

Happened to me a few times, last time was a week ago. I pull the power cord from the back of the PS4 for a few seconds, plug it back in, and press the power button and it comes back on.

Sup, fellas.

Who here is getting the psvr?

Guy at gamestop told me they Will take preorders on tuesday.

You have to put atleast $100 down. I Will be preordering.

upgraded PS4 or PS4.5 sounds like a terrible idea.

I mean, would Sony really want to fracture their gaming community?

If you're a developer, would you even bother shooting for the top specs on a PS4.5 or just ship your game optimized for original PS4, knowing it will run on both?

Even if you could make games available for both, with each running at settings appropriate to the respective hardware, how does that affect online gaming, when PS4 and PS4.5's come together?

Thanks for the replies fellas.

This is not a good look at all. Definitely got me thinking twice about putting my PS4 in rest mode from now on.

I've had my ps4 on rest Mode since the firmware update and have never had any problems. It didn't turn on for me once because the WiFi I was using was no longer in service so I had to change it.
