The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I'm a really big bf guy and gave up on cod along time ago I been trying to read the reviews on it but it seems like every review is biased they all gave it a 8 but saying it's still the same cod and the graphics ain't a big improvement ... I want to give it a try but I'm afraid I won't like it like the past

But bf on the other hand looks next gen and smooth when I downloaded that video of it had me stoked ..

I really don't want 3 fps but I think Ima end up with 3 tomorrow :smh:

how many of you guys are getting 2 shooters with the b2g1? :nerd:

Have both BF4 and COD:G. Both are okay, but neither really do much their previous iterations didn't. Next gen versions will just look a little prettier.

Have Killzone waiting for Friday.
Views on the campaigns?  Or have you not bothered with it?

Completed both on their hardest difficulties:

BF4 is extremely short... took me 5-6 hours and there are only 9 missions. Not a ton of variety and the storyline is pretty weak. Ending has 3 different options that each offer 1 different line of dialogue... :smh:

COD:Ghosts was the better of the two. Longer (probably around 10 hours; 18 missions), story was better, and alot of variety in the missions. However, it was the easiest COD to beat on Veteran of any I have played back to COD 3. The ending was disappointing as well.

These company's been screwing people over for ever, and you guys would feel bad

Supposedly walmart supports groups who are against marriage equality.

Among other things such as there being various accounts of Walmart not paying their employees' med benefits.

Even though I know these things, I still shop at walmart.

"Chicken too tasty."

They had BF4 too which I wanted but the register wouldn't let him sell it until tomorrow which was strange. But the guy told me just to bring them back tomorrow and I can exchange COD for it. :pimp:

I haven't played a lot of FPS games. I may get KZ or BF4. Which one is better? Going to get either one of these and also picking up 2k14

Not really sure how I feel about it, it's def better than the XMB - although it still retains some of the XMB feel, but don't see anything 'awe - inspiring' either. I wish Sony would take a lil dive with a next gen type of UI too. I understand simply, fluid and functional is easier, but you can still make a beautiful design with great transition simply, fluid and functional. I was at least hoping it looked far better than Xbox One UI, which is nice, but just a shadow of Metro UI. Then again, Sony has never been known for their great UI. Call it nitpicking, but as a graphic designer, I expect better things from a company who builds on design like Sony.

Hopefully we can change the background color like we could on PS3, or have an animated background or something, idk :rolleyes

Sony Backs Estimates of 3 Million PS4 Units Sold This Year

Sony Corp., poised to release the PlayStation 4 game console this week, is confident it can meet analysts’ sales estimates of 3 million units by year-end, exploiting an early advantage over Microsoft Corp. Xbox One.

Sony will have adequate supplies of the $399 PS4 through Christmas and stands by earlier projections for sales of 5 million units by March, Jack Tretton, president and chief executive officer of the company’s U.S. computer entertainment division, said today in an interview.

“This is a marathon, not a sprint, but getting out to a nice start is a good thing to do,” Tretton said. “That hurdle has been cleared. We’re very, very confident we’re in great shape.”

Tretton’s remarks suggest Sony will avoid the supply problems that slowed early sales of the PlayStation 3 in 2006. The new console hits U.S. stores on Nov. 15, followed by Europe on Nov. 29, and will reach 32 countries for the holidays. Microsoft’s Xbox One will debut in 13 countries a week later, down from an original target of 21 markets.

Colin Sebastian, an analyst with Robert W. Baird & Co. in San Francisco, last month estimated each company would sell 3 million units worldwide this year.

“We’re very comfortable with it,” Tretton said. “I’m excited about next week to be able to talk about what was sold as opposed to what we may sell.”

Sony’s American depositary receipts fell 0.8 percent to $16.61 at the close in New York. Shares of the Tokyo-based company have advanced 48 percent this year.

In August, Microsoft delayed the release of the $499 Xbox One in eight countries, including Russia and the Netherlands, until 2014 to make sure it had enough supplies for larger markets.

Both companies have added online features to their new machines, infusing them with entertainment options such as access to movies and TV shows to make the devices the center of consumers’ living rooms.

Sony won praise earlier this year for its lower price, and keeping supplies flowing is crucial for its plan to get an early sales advantage.

“The only hurdle left that is not a non-issue until it’s over is launching the thing, having people engage with the network and it all goes very smoothly,” Tretton said.

Andrew House, head of Sony’s game operation worldwide, in September forecast sales of 5 million PS4 units by the company’s fiscal year-end in March.

Wayne Hickey, a spokesman for Microsoft, declined to comment on the company’s projection for Xbox One sales.
