The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Which is a good thing :pimp: id gladly pay 50 a year or less with deals to get free games

I mean I'm just loving how Sony is handling their buisness.

It's almost like its to good to be true for some folks. But if it was any dirt I think it would have come out by now.

Just like everybody tried to jump on the ram issue last week.

But it just seems like Sony is just trying to fix everything they did wrong with the Ps3. And really are making moves to please the consumer. I just have to respect that.

I tried to be slick and download the PlayStation Mobile app using an apk file but it won't let me log in because I'm not in Europe. lol

Just used some power rewards for a 3 month ps+ code, definitely some good freebies, i.e. Hitman Absolution, Saints Row 3, Uncharted Golden Abyss, & Gravity Push. Hopefully continues this trend with the PS4

If no one bought launch consoles they would fail and you wouldn't see any great games anyway.

There's a lot of early 2014 and launch titles that appeal to me, so I'll be fine.

I'm even interested in Knack. I love platformers. Battlefield 4, Killzone: Shadow Fall, LEGO Marvel, plus I have faith in NBA Live 14. In the spring/early 2014 there's Infamous: Second Son and maybe Destiny if it's out in that time frame. I'll download Blacklight and PlanetSide 2 because they're free anyway and any game that comes with PS+ including DriveClub. Digital titles like Octodad and Mercenary Kings. Plus the new MLB: The Show in March.

Reserved a launch console with Battlefield 4 and 1 year PS+ im coming from a 360

XBL was so much better than barebones PS3 was this past console Gen. I honestly want to see how Sony steps it up. Both my PS3 and Xbox are collecting dust until the new consoles drop. I've been playing more PC games than anything.

Generally only thing they kept me away was party chat but now that the free services top the Xbox live needed features I'm done w. Microsoft my home screen is filled with ads and the ui hasn't been smooth since the last update.

Most of everything you named didn't come until the end of the consoles life.. Not to mention almost EVERYONE on the PS3 had no mic.. The online experience was horrible from the get go. No party chat, cross game chat. Just bare bones as hell.

From the get go Xbox never had party chat, Just that one on one private chat. It was the NXE update that added party chat.

Yeah, and once they added party chat people by and large stopped talking in game. They would all be talking to their friends.

YOUR experience was terrible as hell. And you're talking like Microsoft had all their apps from the start.

Im tried of people falling back to the "No Party Chat!" excuse when saying how much better Live is. Its one aspect that doesnt make or break your online experience. At the end of the day you paid $300 for 5 years of Live to essentially be able to talk to friends not in your games? Congratulations on such a rich experience.

Shuhei Yoshida on PS4 Unboxing, PSN Name Changes, Day 1 Perks, No Sticker, No PS Vita Streaming on PS4

Earlier today, Shuhei Yoshida took care of some very serious business on his Twitter account, clearing up all questions people had about the PS4′s game streaming and recording features being behind the PlayStation Plus paywall.

Well, it’s clear that he doesn’t want to be serious all the time, having a little fun on his Twitter account throughout the day, while also confirming some more news about the PS4.

First up, with the announcement of PlayStation All-Stars Island (info on that to come via The Catch-Up later today) for iOS and Android, an exchange Shuhei had with Wario64 was brought up: (Here )

So, with Uncharted now on iPhone, someone said, “iOS/Android now a #PSVita because it has Uncharted according to @yosp,” with Shuhei jokingly saying, “Oh, yeah!”

Moving onto the PS4, Yoshida was asked if there’s a day one perk or anything with the new system. His reply was, “You’ll get bragging rights,” once again showing he was having fun, but it does seem to imply that there won’t be any day one perks included with the PS4 (which wasn’t expected anyways) – conversely the Xbox One has a ‘Day One’ edition with ‘Day One’ on the controller.

As well, Yoshida wasn’t able to confirm if we’d be seeing PS4 exclusive games at gamescom (there probably will be though). He also said that it “depends on [the] game” regarding whether PS3 users can play with PS4 users in the same game lobby on online titles.

Poking fun at the Xbox One and the fact that it includes a sticker in the box, Shuhei said, “Every PS4 will come with a Sony logo on it” and “that’s exclusive to PlayStation.” Then, addressing whether he might do a PS4 unboxing, he replied, “I think people will want to experience it themselves.”

One feature that people have been very vocal about is being able to change their PSN name on PS4. Shuhei answered back to one of the people asking about it by saying, “That’s people’s favorite question that I do not answer .” Obviously this isn’t the reply everyone’s looking for, but he didn’t outright shut it down, so there’s at least that.

A couple other tidbits show that the PS4 won’t come with an ethernet cable, and you won’t be able to stream PS Vita games on the PS4.
