The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

So since I preordered the PS4 should I get PS+ now on PS3 so I have it for PS4 or should I just wait it out till it drops? I have an old *** 40 gig PS3 and don't have room to install anything else on it. All I got on there is GTA: SA, Crash Bandicoot 2 and whatever stuff I have to install for BF3, madden 13, mlb the show 13, GTA IV, Tomb Raider, n WWE 13....sucks not having any room to download stuff :smh:

Well if you cant download games there is no real benefit to getting it early. 40GB though, you should be able to clear up 10GB, no?

i know people who bought a ps3 for just blu-ray
 did anybody buy a 360 for hd-dvd

I got my ps3 for the bluray. At the time blue rays wee almost teh same price of a ps3. Plus, Walmart was selling the motorstorm edition pus gave you 10 or 15 free blue ray movies. At the time bluerays were still $30ea.

I intially had a hd-dvd and only went that way cause Transformers was exclusive to HD_DVD.

Some of y'all know this by now.........

If You Haven't Pre-Ordered An Extra Dual Shock 4, Do It Now

The PlayStation 4 is guaranteed to be a hot item this holiday season, but don't forget about one very important component: That extra controller.

The PS4 only comes with one Dual Shock 4, of course, and you're bound to want an extra. Personally, I definitely need an extra so that I can always be charging one while playing with the other. However, you might not be able to just grab a Dual Shock 4 on day one.

GameStop has been warning customers that their initial allotment of Dual Shock 4s won't be very large. In fact, most stores around me are saying they're only expecting between 15 and 25 on launch day. Most are telling people that if they haven't already pre-ordered a controller, they can't guarantee you one come launch. I'm not sure about Amazon or other retailers but it definitely seems as if GameStop won't have many. Of course, they could get more; Sony may respond to the demand before fall arrives, but there's no guarantee.

Unless you throw your controller to the floor like a football when you get a touchdown on Madden, I think that you'll be good with one controller for at least 6 months.

Preorderd a second controller but I don't really need it.

If the demand is still high and there aren't enough controllers at my GS then ill flip it to the highest bidder behind me

Believe or not, I still have my HD DVD Player for my Xbox and a HUGE collection of HD DVD's.

I remember before circut city went out of business i bought all kinds of HD movies for like $2 to $5 bucks each.

and then when HD DVD's went out of business Frys also had them at ike $5 each....

till this day i still dont see the diffrence between HD and Bluray it just sucked that you had to choose one or the other.

The disks capacity's were quite different though. HD-DVD was 10GB and Blu-ray is 25GB.

I can't remember the pros and cons to both but I'm glad Blu-ray won.

These mockups are pushing to make me wait
I thought I was off all gloss but this looks good.

I've never bought a system at launch. The closest was when I got the PS3 about half a year after launch. I normally buy a second controller for when I have people over. Will they really be that scarce? I can understand the system possibly having a shortage, but peripherals are usually produced in much larger quantities. From now to November, Sony has to see this and produce more.

It would be nice if they launched with multiple colours too. PS and PS2 eventually had those nice see-through lime and crazy coloured ones. It would actually be dope if they came out with the OG gray like the original PlayStation controllers for the PS4.

Only Japan gets first dibs at different colours and since they're launching there last, they'll probably use that to entice them.
We won't see colours anytime soon I don't think

I traded in my broken 60gb for $70. They would've given me up to $140 if it was working.

Fat or slim?

I have this 40GB Spiderman fat with a 500GB hdd, modded (can easily go with officialFW)

How much can I get?

Edit: PERFECT working condition, has a second (SixAxis) controller somewhere :nerd:

By modded you mean "modded" right?
If so, i'm pretty sure that you can get suspended or banned for talking about what you're talking about.

In any case, check how much the stock version of your ps3 is going for. Then, bump up your sale price depending on how much your "additions" are worth.

I have a demo downloaded now I forgot to add which is prolly around 15XX MB and GTA: SA downloaded, dunno how much MB that was, all the movies and pics are in the info under misc that I posted. I had the 2 free games that sony let you download when psn was down for like a month but I deleted them, dunno if there still stored on there somewhere but I just went to it one day hit triangle then delete.

I have a OG fat 60G anyone know how much those are going for now. I am really tempted to sell off and just put the moneydown on a preorder.

"Fallout 4 has (apparently) been absent from E3 this year. However, behind closed doors, Bethesda gave details and a 37 second trailer for the upcoming Fallout 4. Pete Hines of Bethesda is keeping tight lipped about the 45 minute presentation, but it seems there was a leaker inside who was willing to give this information.

> Fallout 4 has been in development since January 2011 by a small team, as the majority were working on Skyrim.

> As of February 2013, the team working on Fallout 4 is the size of the team which was working on Skyrim. This is due to Skyrim development ending.

> As it stands now, Fallout 4 will release on Xbox One, PS4, PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. However, this is still subject to change.

> The actual announcement for Fallout 4 will come BEFORE E3 2014, but will NOT launch in 2014.

> The expected launch is in October 2015.

> The game is (as of June 2013) 55% complete, consequently, voice actors will be hired towards the end of 2014.

> There is no planned multi-player, but there is a possibility of Co-Op locally.

> The game will take place in Somerville, Cambridge, Arlington (and surrounding areas). The main setting is in a Post-Apocalyptic Boston. However, this area will not be immediately accessible.

> The story is not clear, however, Vaults exist.

> The 37 second trailor starts starts with a half-broken phone sparking. The scene pulls out slowly with the stereotypical music you would hear. Slowly you work out the scene is pulling out of a belltower. As it pulls further out, you see a destroyed town around. This is Boston. Suddenly, you hear the bell chime loudly, and the screen changes black instantly. The words of Ron Pearlman are heard "War... War never changes...". The logo for Fallout 4 appears with the 5 platforms above listed.

Aside from all the rumours, this is the only confirmed news. It just looks like we have another 2 years before we'll be able to play the game
