The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I own the Sony ones you posted. I've had multiple Turtle Beach headsets, and I like these more than TB's twice their price.

And yes, you can have the TV audio play through the headphones.

Ubisoft Confirms That Watch Dogs Companion App Does Not Require Retail Game

During its first quarter earnings call, Ubisoft confirmed that Watch Dogs' companion app will not require that players own the game on consoles or PC. This is a shift in how companion apps have been handled in the past.

Now, anyone interested in the Watch Dogs experience just on a mobile device can do that without owning a full version of the title. This broadens the possibility for external influences on Aiden's adventure, both in support of players and as foils for the full game's players.

For more on the companion app, check out this preview.

Today, at the World of Capcom panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Capcom Senior Producer Andrew Szymanski announced an all new Strider developed by Double Helix for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC!

Originally released in 1989, Strider remains one of Capcom’s most enduring franchises. The game tells the story of Hiryu, the youngest ever “Super A” ranked agent of an elite corps known as the Striders. Strider Hiryu receives orders to assassinate Grandmaster Meio, supreme dictator of Earth, who has plunged humanity into a dystopian dark age.

Since the original release, Strider Hiryu has battled through multiple sequels, and appears as a playable character in Capcom’s Marvel vs. Capcom series of fighting games, most recently Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, released in 2011. Strider is a consistent fan favorite for Capcom, always ranked at the top of fan polls as a character in high demand to return in his own game.

Part of Strider’s enduring appeal has been blazing fast gameplay, married with deep environment traversal options. For the new game, Double Helix and our partner team in Osaka, Japan, concentrated on an ultra-responsive control system, with incredibly satisfying combat options in every traversal context—standing, running, wall climbing, hanging, aerial and more.

New to the franchise is the massive interconnected world of Kazakh City which players can explore in any direction they choose. The traditional level structure has been replaced with a retraceable world and a deep ability upgrade system which enables Hiryu to build more power and abilities to penetrate ever deeper into the dystopian adventure.

Double Helix is thrilled to be working with some of the original Strider creative leaders from Capcom’s Osaka production offices to bring another fan favorite franchise back to life!

I won't lie, I only know Strider from Marvel vs Capcom
I don't even know what the original game plays like but this is a 2.5d metrodvania sidescroller.

People are disappointed that it's Double Helix developing it though. I don't know their track record but it's the same studio developing Killer Instinct.

Anyway, I'm happy to see a real Strider game again. M$soft and Capcom has some serious confidence in Double Helix to put two memorable franchises in their hands.

Uhh... Front Mission Evolved was good. Not amazing, but for what they where trying to do, it was pretty good.

lol that strider game looks like it could be available from the app store or google play.  Looks like the mobile version of mirrors edge.

Don't really see the point in buying a new system and then playing sports games u already own. But to each his own.

This is all I was saying too. Like, at least pick up ONE of the other launch titles and get a real next generation experience too. But indeed, at the end of the day, people will do what they wish.

Unless yall paying for that man's system he gonna do as he pleases. If that's two sports game so be it. What he wants to spend his money on is his choice.. *shrugs*

I'm not getting the PS4 until MGS V.  I can hold off on Watch Dogs since i'll have GTA V to keep me occupied.

First year i'm not getting FIFA for PS3 tho.. can't stand the lag off and online.  I'll wait to see how it plays on PS4 too

I had triton joints they were good nice to hear little things like someone running up on you.. They were cool I treat them like doodoo and ended breaking them things.. Decided I liked playing better without em and just a bluetooth headset that didn't cover my head just in ear

Curious, were you able to hear what was going on around you when you played with the volume up?

I agree. I mean, after playing the same sports game for 6 or 7 years, why wouldn't you want to play the next gen version?

It's not like the PS4 price is going to drop anytime soon after it releases, so who cares if you buy it at launch or a year later.

I don't know if this was answered before, but once these multiplatform games come out, PS4 and XboxOne games'll be $60.  Does that mean PS3 and 360 games will be $50? $40? $30???!

that new ratchet and clank game coming out for PS3 brand new will be $29.99 if i'm not mistaken

^I would expect a $10 price drop for current gen games that are multiplatform games.

How you gon have watch dogs be $60 for the ps3 and the ps4?

da ....?

 There won't be a price drop.

Let's just be thankful next gen games aren't $70.

PS3 games don't get cheaper to make just because there is a PS4.

I said current gen games that are multiplatform.

Maybe will see a price drop after the first year or when the current gen starts to fade out of existence.

It just seems dumb to have a game that's on seperate gens. be the same price.

edit: by multiplatform I meant multigen.
