It's better to take off the cord to ensure that no power is being used.

I've been doing that since PS1.

I only leave the plug in if I'm dling lots of content off of psn.
Yeah cause doesn't it say before unplugging the cord shut down the console first, like when you hold to home button down and what not
I turn off the console with the controller or by pressing the power button.

Wait for the power button light to turn off, then unplug the cord.
Do you leave every piece of electronics in your home unplugged (sans refrigerator), when you're not using them?
Pretty much.

If the electronic doesn't serve a purpose while it's in standby then I unplug it.

Most of the times, I just turn off the switch that's on my belkin power surge thing.

Refridgerators are in "use"(opening) when they're not in "use(upkeep of food)."

Wow, then you don't even power it off properly. The risks ya'll run.

There should be a meme for this. "Spends $700 in the first week for console, games and accessories... Worries about saving 17 cents a year in electricity".

That's if you're actually even saving anything doing that.

IDK why you're acting like flipping a switch is so much harder than leaving the console in standby mode.

....But really I'm not understanding why'd you'd go as far as actually unplugging the console. It's just...why??

So I'm curious...can y'all tell me where your ps4 is manufactured (by looking on the back, at the bottom)? And if it was made in China, have you had any issues?
that yangtai or whatever place in china, september 2013, from amazon and no problems so far. i got lucky i guess
Same here
Just checked mine. Manufactured in china, received from Amazon...........................works great so far.

Our latest one was like $800(1 or 2 months) I can't remember, so yeah...

Point is, flipping a switch is no way an example of going out of your way to save money on an eltricity bill.

Mainly habit.

It's not hard to do.

Especisally since  i can just flip a switch that "unplugs" a various amount of electronics at the same time.

you growing a weed operation bruh :x

I usually keep it on standby but because of the threat of severe thunderstorms in a few hours, I shut it down completely.

EDIT: ^ I do agree with using surge protectors.

 What? are ya'll serious? leave it in ******g standby. Initial boot on electronics uses a lot more electricity than you think if conservation is your goal. And i'd think constant cold boots add more to wear and tear than powering up out of standby.

This.

There's a reason these machines and computers have stand-by modes. If you plan to have the machine off for a considerable amount of time. Then by all means. Unplug the thing.

Anybody who has Killzone how did you enjoy the single player? I watched an Angry joe stream last night and it looks frustrating as hell

That's another reason why I unplug it. I have two consoles now. Some weeks will be ps3 week, then other will be 360 week.

I haven't touched my 360 in almost 7 days.

Check out amazon reviews.

They can be helpful.

Click control/command F, then type in story.

Then you'll be able to read people's comments about the story mode.

700 unread posts huh... did i miss anything ?
bf4 has a bunch of problems that aren't console related, rather ea/dice rushed the game

a black peyton manning wants a nter to play in traffic

ppl having problems installing games, connecting their ps app to their consoles

$ony supposedly sold 1 million consoles in a day

500gb is looking to not be enough for next-gen

my unpopular opinions, such as flipping a switch on a surge protector to shut off all your electronics and not thinking that there's a real reason to cop a ps4 right at this moment.
