The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Online MP games have a ton of replay value
laugh.gif
especially for the xbone owners who got it cause they love the FPS games that drop on there.. like Gears, Halo, now Titanfall.. for now. When TF2 drops for the PS4 as well.. some will come around the corner and say it's an awesome game.

But you said you don't play online.. so it's obvious that game wouldn't interest you.

As far as your PC comment, not many people have gaming PCs to play it on, brah.. and I don't even know where you're getting with the PC has more uses and functions than the xbone.. does a PC have less "uses and funtions" than a PS4 that I'm unaware of?
im saying I never really buy systems outside of ones that have exclusives ie... a ps...Nintendo etc... I did buy a xbox 360 but that was mainly because it was used... and at that point it was hacked and could be used for like xbmc...... etc.. have an extra box for another tv. I understand many ppl don't have gaming pc's but many ppl do also....

Iuno it just don't make since to me atleast to spend 500+ specifically to play certain so called exclusives and then pay such and such for a pc when you can combine the cost of both and get it all in one machine... Not to mention with torrents etc.... many functions etc... options of a pc and just everyday uses it just seems like the logical choice.

I guess I see it like having a surface and a pc laptop and having the surface exclusively for watching movies and the laptop for everything else when the laptop can essentially do the same thing as the surface and more. Then bragging about some app or program the surface has and ipad doesn't... but the app or program is readily available for a pc

Im sure for those ppl who have it is elated about it...but just to act as if its some super exclusive game that you must have only a xbox 1 to play it is a little over the top...

No hate on the system or anything I have no stock in either company no dog in the fight... But this is a ps thread, and as such if someone is gonna be braggadocios about a game as if its some limited exclusive no other way to get it is kinda putting to much on it... Especially when it simply isn't true...

You never buy consoles outside of the ones that have exclusives you like* because all of them have exclusives brah

Believe it or not.. there are people who actually like the exclusive M$ puts out over those on PS.. that's not saying the PS exclusives are bad by any means because we all know they push out great SP exclusives.. but there are people out there that prefer the ones M$ puts out whether you want to believe it or choose to ignore it.

I can't even play 2k, every time I load it up a black screen comes up and never goes to the menu.... [emoji]128528[/emoji]

I don't remember Sony doing any Haze announcements at E3. All I remember is the Ubidays event. Sony used to have a good relationship with Free Radical. Haze was one of the first 3rd party games that lead on PS3 and it sounded like they were having trouble just developing on the one platform. If it reviewed better, they probably would of ported it.

I think Ubi wanted that game to be a hit more than Sony did. That same year Sony had their own titles like MotorStorm, Warhawk, Folklore, Heavenly Sword, Ratchet, Uncharted, etc.

And Sony definitely cared about Haze in 2007 because MS's game line up was ridiculously and the "PS3 haz no games" meme was going around.

Stop it B. They cared, they probably paid, and it bombed. It is no big deal. Ubi also cut a deal for Splinter Cell during that time on Xbox. That game even though delayed, reviewed well, but was never ported

"Probably paid." OK now.

I remember those memes like it was yesterday. The 360's second year titles were getting compared to the PS3's launch titles.

Jack said, "experience it first". That doesn't sound like a lifetime exclusive. I agree that a lot of PS fanboys were championing that awful game, because that's what they do. FTR, I never thought Lair, Heavenly Sword, or Haze were good. I wasn't that jaded.

So is MGS: GZ basically a demo of MGS5? Is GZ a separate 2 hr game or does it just contain a small section of MGS5?

I believe it's just 1 mission, a small section of phantom pain.

I'll have it tomorrow and post my thoughts a half hour into it.

no but ms exclusive aren't really exclusives because they are on pc....therefore know need to for example have titanfall on pc then go out and buy a xbox 1 to play titanfall.... I mean im sure the game is cool and all but not 500 for a system plus 60 dollars for the games worth...

But lets say a game like a uncharted or a Zelda or Mario.... cant play them on a pc so really have no choice but to buy those systems....

PlayStation 4 price going up by $50 in Canada

The price of Sony Corp’s newly released PlayStation 4 game console will be going up by $50 in Canada, the company has confirmed, raising the price from $399 to $449. The price jump will take effect on Saturday March 15.

The console — released last November with a price-tag on par with the one in the United States — isn’t the only piece of Sony hardware getting a bump. The Dualshock 4 controller and PlayStation Camera are both going up from $59.99 to $64.99. As well, the prices of two upcoming first-party games — MLB The Show ’14 and inFAMOUS: Second Son — will retail for $69.99, which is ten dollars higher than the U.S. price.

“The PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system delivers phenomenal play experiences that will shape the world of games for years to come and has quickly become the next gen console of choice with gamers in Canada,” Sony said in a statement. “To respond to changes in the market environment, the price of PlayStation 4 will be revised from CAD $399.99 to $449.99 MSRP.”

Sony did not specifically say that the increase was related to the Canadian dollar, but a low dollar is obviously a “change in the market environment.”

Last month there was a similar price increase on the games for the rival Xbox One, moving from $59.99 to $64.99. That said, a representative at Microsoft confirmed that no similar price increase is happening for the Xbox One console itself, which will stay at $499.99.

Never seen this happen before, what's happening over there?

Console, game, accessories all going up.

Don't quote me on this but I think GZ is a prologue into Phantom Pain. The end of GZ leads right into the beginning of MGS5. At least I hope this is the case because I wouldn't want to buy the full game having to play the same mission that I already bought as a demo.

 at buying a 29.99 demo of a game which will prolly contain an hr and a half of cut scenes and 30 mins of gameplay. Game will prolly be out in a year.

People posting screens from leaked versions of Second Son. Best looking console game at the moment, non-debatable. AND this is a open-world game!? Can you imagine a game like Uncharted with their set pieces? It's not going to be fair...

Watch Dogs delayed to 2016?

So Ubisoft decides to just make a multiplat exclusive for.................................reasons? . They paid. It makes even less sense for timed exclusivity, because you pretty much guarantee that MS will not co-promote. And once again do all this for...................reasons?

Ubisoft cut a deal around that time for Splinter Cell. No one questions MS paid, but Sony got gifted, c'mon brah

-The PS3 haz no games weren't meme continued into through most of 2008. MS 2007 blew away Sony's. Especially in the later half of the year

Only thing I can really find on it is that it was meant to release on PS3 first and then when it flopped they scrapped the ports....

Sounds like a good.......reason.

Oh right. Because titanfall is the only exclusive you right.
but how many great xbox titles has there been that weren't on Microsoft Windows for Games? vs how many ps and Nintendo titles that made it to the pc?

Better yet what xbox system game that was so great that i would turn down d/l it for free from the pirates at bay... for a pc go out buy a system and buying the game...

Ill wait

PS3 was always the lead. It was the version that was the furthest along. A lot of PS3 versions of games were cancelled that Microsoft never paid for. Back then it seemed a lot harder for developers to get parity on these different architectures. Which probably accounted for a lot of those 360 exclusives from 3rd party publishers.

Katamari on 360 was cancelled for PS3. Same with Saints Row. I don't think Microsoft paid for those. I can't find anything about Sony buying Haze. I never said Sony got gifted. Free Radical (or Ubisoft) probably just wanted to get a version of the game out and get a return on their investment, but after it flopped, it wasn't worth it to port it. Why wouldn't Jack just say Haze would only be on PS3 for it's lifetime? When you say "first," it implies that it's planned for other platforms in the future. Something has to come after, for something to be first.
