The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I used to never think about it either, until i used a controller after a certain family member who doesn't have good hygiene and the controller just felt

Can trophies be earned offline with the PS4? When I was doing the update, I was signed out of PSN and noticed that my trophies were not visible and when I tried to view them, it said that I must be signed into PSN.

Yea you can earn them offline. But you need to connect to the PSN to sync them so that they are saved on Sonys servers. While offline they are saved on your system and there is potential for you to lose them if your game data is corrupted.

Last year when their network was down for a month, I earned around 2-300. Then when we could sign back on, they sync process took like 20 minutes, but they all sunk fine.

Ok good looks just wanted to make sure that when I deploy and come back from Afghanistan, all my trophies that I earn will sync. Do the trophies at least pop up when earned? I know they do on PS3.

You know how many people/kids nasty *** hands been on those demo controllers?  Its flu season too, and i doubt the employees clean those things often, if at all.

Oh INDEED.

Ever since SARS here in HK 10 years ago, hand-sanitizers can be found all over the city... so I tend to use that a lot.  Restaurants give out disposable alcohol towels, which I take full advantage of too.   Armed with my trusty alcohol-wipes, I demoed GT6 on a racing seat last week!

Usually if you try to look at your trophies, it's going to try to sync them up which requires you to be online. I'm sure there's a way to stop that.

Oh yea, same thing as PS3. Any you earn will sync once you connect to the internet again. I played offline the first night with my PS4 and was earning them no problem.

Just expect a sync time that is abnormally long.

If your concerned about germs on a controller, never touch anything while outside your own home.
actually no, hes right. dont touch those things. its not about being germs in general. those demo controllers are a concentration of them. most of the people who play them are little kids, every day. NONE of them have just washed their hands. so those little snot-nosed, just peed in the public bathroom and missed, buttscratching, nose-picking, wedgie-picking kids are all storing EVERYTHING on those controllers....that never get cleaned.

I normally don't touch demo stations, but I had to try the Octodad demo the other day.

I wasn't saying that he's wrong. I was just adding that if publicly used controllers concern you, realize that there's plenty of other things you probably touch that you're not that weary of.

Things like shopping carts, desk counters, stoplight buttons(think of how many homeless people touch those), elevators, door handles, etc.

I found some articles too. They are a little dated though. I am guessing it is coming up next month or something

Ok, then I got that email yesterday. lol I don't think they're saying the game will be free but instead they're saying ps+ is needed for multiplayer like Killzone. At least that's how I interpreted it.

I was looking at those articles just now to make sure but they're talking about timed trials, I guess?

I read it like resogun and contrast is free on ps+ and also with ps+ enjoy the multiplayer of kz only with a ps+ membership. Being as it's a sony email they aren't going to say cod or bf they're going to say their exclusive game since single player is free don't need ps+

Unless the MP community is completely dead, I serioulsy doubt they would offer this for free. Game hasn't even been out a full month.

does sony even give out free games that are third party? i wouldnt know since this is the first month i owned ps +

Vita Bros.. 16gb for 29.99 worth it? Or should i just wait for another deal on that 32 (possibly 64)
