The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

can some one explain the playstation now

So if i have a ps2 game disc...can i save that to the cloud and play it on my ps4? How would i get a ps2 game into the cloud? Or is it only going to be ps3...since you can download the PS NOW app on there and save the games to that....then it can run on any of the platforms?

PS Now is Netflix for Sony games, basically.

If you already have the game on an older console, it probably wont matter.

I am making assumptions here, but I imagine it works just like Netflix. You have one account (your PSN account) and can download the app on several devices.

How some games plan to work on tablet and phone is beyond me, but we'll see.

I think I will use PS Now only for gaming devices, the option to use PS Now on phones, tablets, and TVs seems cool if your into that I guess. Not sure how that is going to work as far as controls and what not.

edit: Maybe with bluetooth connectivity you'll be able to use dualshock 3 or 4 for TV, tablets, and phones

Thats kind of what i figured thanks man. Like buy the game and load it to the cloud or download it digitally and it will all save to your profile and be available on any device. They will probably incorporate a movie service and they already said TV service right. Should be interesting.

But good lord just add all old PS2 titles please. I want all tony hawk games...i have disks of them....but no ps2 or fat ps3 to play them on...sold the ps2 for fat ps3 got YLOD on fat....bought a slim.....miss it

GOW Ascension, The Last Of Us, Puppeteer, and Beyond Two souls are already confirmed for the service, so I'm guessing they'll get the newer games outta the way first. Add GTAV to that list and it's a wrap.

2.1 million the first 15 days, 2.1 million the next 25 days. This thing will have had outsold the Wii U in two weeks  Hopefully this gen will be a wakeup call for Nintendo.

Are these confirmed for the beta at the end of the month?

"The momentum of the PS4 system keeps getting stronger and we couldn't be more thrilled gamers worldwide are enjoying the incredibly immersive gaming experiences along with deep social capabilities and entertainment provided by our network," said Andrew House, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. Nintendo does their own thing and I doubt that will change. All they try to do now is catch lightning in a bottle in the console space because they just can't compete head to head.

Always play the most updated version of your game. With games hosted in the cloud, you can take your game with you – just log in with your Sony Entertainment Network account on a compatible device and your games and saved progress will be easily available.

Haha of course, ps now sounds awesome already though.

I'm very interested to see how that service works.

How are they picking who gets in the closed beta? Over the years I've gotten beta access codes in my email to a few games like Uncharted 2 and 3, Starhawk, etc. Without even signing up for anything.

Ps now...more like ps later? Amirite?

PlayStation Now really works!

I just had my first hands on with the newly announced PlayStation Now streaming service here at CES 2014, and I'm here to tell you that it seems to work beautifully.

It took me several minutes to wrap my head around that I was playing a perfect copy of The Last of Us on the Vita on the CES show floor. It was exactly like a Remote Play experience, complete with triggers being mapped to the rear pad. Gameplay was very responsive and completely lag free. Sony told us that a Gaikai server from down the hall was running the game.

What's neat is that multiplayer works between proper console games and cloud games. I learned that Sony was testing Journey with console players with them having no idea they were paired with cloud players.

Sony is also showing PS3 game Puppeteer being played via the cloud on a Bravia television. Again, this works flawlessly. It looked maybe a bit less impressive than the Vita experience, but still great. God of War: Ascension and, Beyond: Two Souls are also available to play on the show floor via PlayStation Now.

Sony says that PS3 is a focus right out of the gate, but PS2 and PS1 games are also slated.

We are hoping to try out tablet and smartphone play soon. Stay tuned.

So will ps now be another subscription based thing or is it lumped with ps+
cause wouldnt that defeat the purpose of buying games if u could just stream em

ps now will most likely be it's own thing with it's own sub fee.

That's what I've gathered from various articles about it.
