The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

When you plug headphones into the controller, is there a way to turn the volume up? Or is that as loud as it gets.

and in Battlefield 4, you dont hear everyone on your team, but the 3-5 people you have in your squad associated with the team.

So does no one talk on PS4 like PS3?
Chat Parties. People complained last gen that cross-game chat not being on the PS3 was terrible. Well now that they got their wish, no one uses mics in public lobbies; everyone is in party chat.
Rarely anyone ever talked anyway on the PS3

Most the times I played COD there was hardly anyone ever talking.. that could also be because if there was one person talking I'd mute everyone except my party

I don't know if it's because the headset on the PS4 is bunz but when I've played BF4 on the ps4 and when I play it on the xbone there is a lot more people talking in my squad on the xbone. I don't think I heard one person talk on the PS4

I don't have a ps4 yet but I wax afraid of this.

And people always say nobody talked on ps3 and that's not 100% true. I ran solo fir a while because it seemed a lot of the NT playstation crew didn't run a lot if Hardcore. And I met a few cool people online.

But the fact that I talk a lot of **** might have something to do with that.

On XBL NOBODY is talking unless they are in a party. That was one thing I didn't like about XBL. And if it was a chance they were talking most of it was Racist stuff. :smh:

bf4/cod discussion is all preference. a few days ago i watched some bf4 gameplay :smh: first time ive ever done that for bf and i didnt like it. im a run and gun type of player.

How can you guys honestly put up with this craptacular OS? Its clearly unfinished and extremely unintuitive. The console itself is a beautifully made machine along with the DS4 sans its god awful battery life but at the end of the day we didn't spend this money on a machine to run a beta OS and user interface. It is not streamlined and doesn't feel well put together at all. Sony has to get on their a game and release a update that gives me ALL the functionality I had on my PS3 at least. Comparing the software on the PS4 to the Xbox One is a joke especially considering how much more powerful the PS4 is.

Would you rather us be able to change the colors of our "tiles" or pin our most favorite used apps in the far left?  I don't see the problem besides no media center yet and no live view of the game you're currently playing

I don't have your problems I guess. Yes, there are some missing features, but as far as getting in and out of games and navigating the OS, it's pretty simple to me. I don't know what the big deal is. They reserved RAM for the OS, i'm sure they intend to utilize it further. The supposed OS deficiencies can be made up, but as we go further on, the Xbone can't catch up to the PS4 power wise. So no need to freak out. We're in week 2 of a 6+ year long generation.

Stop worrying about the Xbone bro this has nothing to do with the other system. It has all to do with the PS3 having more apps and a robust experience at this time. This system has been in development for the past 5 years when it was released I totally expected it to surpass what its older counterpart did on an OS level just like all the older systems did when it came after its predecessor

Unintuitive and poor battery? That's comical coming from someone beasting for an Xbox. Ms has to prove the plug and play kits actually work more than becoming a glorified wired controller adaptor. The Xbox one interface is all types of unintuitive.

stop worrying and mentioning the PS4 in the other thread then bro.  Sony knows what they're doing.

The PS3 was out for 8 years. PS4 has been out for 11 days.

This is like your 5th post on this between three threads (maybe more, those are the only ones I am active in). Apparently it is an important issue that you feel everyone needs to know. :rolleyes

You sound like a fanboy. Some people actually prefer removable batteries in there controller. I never bought a play and charge kit for my 360 only suckers did that. I payed $5 for eneloops that gave me great battery life and lasted me a whole console generation. Not even gonna to your Xbox one ui comment

Honestly, I don't know how someone could defend the PS4's UI at this point. It's horrible. But, I'm not mad at Sony because I remember how bad the PS3's UI was at launch. Heck, look at the 360 UI at launch compared to now. Sony already has a bunch of announced features coming to the PS4 in the next 5 months. Gaikai/remote play is better than anything on the One imho. And you know there's more that they haven't announced yet that are coming. The UI is an easily fixable problem. But yes, right now, it's grade a garbage.

The PS4 from DAY 1 has been marketed as gaming machine first. It wasn't marketed as a $500 multimedia machine. The PS4 OS is not the same as the PS3 OS. They didn't just take the PS3 OS and plug it into the PS4. That's not how it works. There is plenty the PS4 can do that the PS3 can't.

Thank you for your sensical and non fanboy response its greatly appreciated. I definitely agree with what you said I just hope the changes come sooner rather than later. I guess your not allowed to be disappointed in certain aspects of your newly purchased console

A fanboy? I own both consoles so I have nothing to gain bruh. You around here running around like your hairs on fire about how unpolished the ps4 is and how you need you a xb1 but I'm a fanboy?

The swindle that you and many fell for  you ever think that Sony marketed the ps4 as the "ultimate gaming console" because they knew their os/ui were lacking from the jump? The things I'm complaining about is base level stuff its unacceptable that these features aren't available at launch.
