if you only knew.... Good luck with that battery life indicator lack of live streaming and Dolby digital output with your Xbox one if you ever get one.

Both consoles are work in progress as far as software goes. Both were pushing a tight schedule to beat the holiday deadline and most users with common sense understand there is something called a system update.

How can you guys honestly put up with this craptacular OS? Its clearly unfinished and extremely unintuitive. The console itself is a beautifully made machine along with the DS4 sans its god awful battery life but at the end of the day we didn't spend this money on a machine to run a beta OS and user interface. It is not streamlined and doesn't feel well put together at all. Sony has to get on their a game and release a update that gives me ALL the functionality I had on my PS3 at least. Comparing the software on the PS4 to the Xbox One is a joke especially considering how much more powerful the PS4 is.

On another note idk if it's just me but I find KZs campaign sooo boring. More times then not I'm just wishing the level would end. As of right now I'm just trying to hurry and beat it so I can sell it and maybe get NFS

. It does look spectacular though to say the least and the multiplayer is pretty good but I have BF4 and don't see it replacing that.

I'd like to know more about this in terms of performance... heard it was the best option out there. 

It's certainly looking that way with the tests I've seen. It's much cheaper than a SSD and it seems the good SSHD's can quickly tell what the most commonly used files are on the PS4 quite quickly so it would be my choice as well.

Talked a little bit about monitors in this thread earlier.  Now i'm looking for one on black friday specifically for gaming.  Whats a sweet spot in terms of size, i'm looking at a 27" LG at bestbuy for 199.  Theres an IPS display, an LCD, and LED for around the same price.

What are the differences?

I would look for a BenQ or Asus monitor if you're looking for somehting with really low input lag.

When you plug headphones into the controller, is there a way to turn the volume up? Or is that as loud as it gets.

From what I've read, you hold down the PS button and an option should come up to change the volume.

I watched the 7 hour streams on Giantbomb for both consoles and they both have flaws so I won't say ones a joke compared to the other. They both have a lot of work to do.

XBone is especially worse in europe since we don't get half the apps, there's no equivalent NFL deal and TV is bugged because our broadcasts are at 50hz while the UI is at 60fps.

The PS4 from DAY 1 has been marketed as gaming machine first. It wasn't marketed as a $500 multimedia machine. The PS4 OS is not the same as the PS3 OS. They didn't just take the PS3 OS and plug it into the PS4. That's not how it works. There is plenty the PS4 can do that the PS3 can't.

The swindle that you and many fell for you ever think that Sony marketed the ps4 as the "ultimate gaming console" because they knew their os/ui were lacking from the jump? The things I'm complaining about is base level stuff its unacceptable that these features aren't available at launch.

Swindle that I fell for? No, it's just the pitch that you ignored. Mark Cerny has talked at length about the process of designing the PS4. From the jump, the PS4 was meant to be a powerful gaming device that was much simpler to develop for than the PS3.

It just sounds like you have an existing bias towards the Xbox and against PlayStation. I don't see any upset people.

I finished kz2 stopped kz3 and finished kz4 but am done with the franchise after the terrible ending the latest one had. Beautiful games. Story isn't really compelling tho. Sony def needs a new flagship shooter franchise.

I agree. I like the multiplayer alot, though. If you look at Halo on XBox, its always had a compelling single player (from what I remember). COD and BF have terrible SP, but thats just how they have been since the beginning.

SOCOM is dead currently (Zipper was shuttered). Maybe Sony could entrust it to another studio though... I dont know who owns the rights.

They did Killzone: Mercenaries which reviewed very well. I can't wait to see Guerilla's new IP. I think they should move on to other genre's giving their technical ability.

I beat COD:G and BF4 on PS3 already and was not impressed. BF4 was 6 hours on the hardest difficulty. COD was longer and better, but still nothing if not formulaic. That said, KZ's SP has been poor so far.

I adored Killzone 2 and 3 got alot of play time too.

But I can't even play Shadow Fall anymore. Guns are garbage and they changed the game play mechanics too much.

Hope Sony let's GG move on.

Edit: I really believe Second Son is going to be this gens Uncharted 2 for Sony. Well at least until Naughty Dog releases Uncharted and TLOU 2 But the game looks amazing.
