The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

but he was talking about looks and looks only nothing about gameplay or content which why i dont understand why you keep bringing them up

Brah, if people played games due to looks alone, the order would be goty.

He was talking about gameplay. OG quote below.

Had he said it's the best looking circuit racing game, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

If you like SIM racers then you'll like Driveclub.
It doesn't have the customization like GT but you need to approach the driving the same way to be fast. That's why it's called a SIMCade as it's less punishing than SIM's but you can't drive like NFS or burnout.

It's also the best looking racing game and has the best weather implementation in terms of effects.
Man nothing will make me forget that DBZ game for the Kinect on 360 :x :smh: whoever thought that was a good idea needed to be slapped
That's around the time I realized kinect was a gimmick.

I almost copped a kinect until I watched a bunch of reviews for kinect games.

Horrible.

It's both the best looking circuit racer and the best looking racer overall.
It's the least ambitious racer of nextgen. The game has been released in bit-sized pieces.

I heard a reviewer call DC a "service" rather than a game.

When you compare what DC's dev has done to better the racing genre to other devs.

Each devs' accomplishments are night and day.

None of what you said has any bearing on the graphical fidelity of the game and how it fares in comparison to other games of the same genre.

That's due to looking at games as the sums of it's parts. Like I stated before, I'm a gameplay over graphics guy. Dc shines in some categories and doesn't in others. I'm pointing that out.

 This thread, man.

"That red apple is green, man. I've never seen it, nor have I tasted it, but people on the internet are telling me it's green, so it's green....

So you aren't allowed to like it."

Mine were getting to feel stickey and I wasn't sure why

Then I downloaded Ollie and it was a WRAP

Bro, my R2 button's hinge straight broke on 2 controllers.  I had to open up the controllers to fix them but luckily the controllers came back together nicely.

When I had to fix my PS3 joystick (thanks to COD4) it just was never the same after opening it up.  They need to improve the joysticks and R2 button.

What is drive club, a sim like gran turismo or a arcade style racer or a mix of both? If it's a mix of both I'm a Amazon 1 hour order it tonight.
Mixture of both.

But you quoted only the bit about Driveclub being the best looking racer, saying I've not played Forza.
I proceeded to lay the smack down with proof and everyone else agreed so you had to quickly back pedal and bring up The Order and some bro maths to somehow determine the amount of content Driveclub has.

Circuit game, open world, doesn't matter. It's the best looking out of all of those.

Yes Playground games who've only made two games have accomplished more than Evolution who has been around since the PS2 days with the WRC series and on PS3 and PSV with Motorstorm.
Common dude

Read this if if you think Driveclub is unambitious in terms of design.

Nice of you to point that out even though the goalposts have been moved but,
My point still stands.

I'm not going to keep on going back and forth, just accept the fatality and move on.

Let's also not forget that Turn 10 does a lot of heavy lifting as far as game engine and car models that Playground benefits from greatly.

The Crew was developed by 2 (Ubisoft) studios.

Evo was not afforded that luxury, so it's a little disingenuous to compare developer accomplishments and ambition in that sense. The level of detail and authenticity to car models, sound effects, lighting, weather system, etc. crafted by a single studio is nothing to sneeze at.

.  That said, i'll pass.  I was looking at some upcoming and already released Japanese PS4 games in anticipation to being able to buy them when I go on vacation in 2 months.

Currently at work, can't remember some of the titles.. i'll post vids soon.  I DO remember one game Earth Defense 4.1 is coming, hopefully to the West.  That game looks :wow:.

I just started playing DmC on PS3. It was free for PS+ about 2 years ago. I like it but similar to TR Definitve Edition, I can't justify paying $40-$60 for something I got for free. I might look at it down the line when it's about $15.

The changes on the the definitive version is more than just a res and framerate boost.
The changes apparently are quite extensive to the balance of the game so if you were interested, I would wait for a price drop insted of playing the free version.

• 60 fps and 1080p resolution — It looks and feels super smooth to play.
• Uprezzed Graphics — Including textures, characters, and cinematics.
• Big Bundle of Content — The game includes DmC: Devil May Cry, plus all released DLC: Vergil’s Downfall campaign, 3 Dante skins, 3 Dante weapon skins, and the item finder.
• Customizable control layout — Reconfigure and reorganize your button layout to suit your own play-style.
• New Skins — 2 new character skins. Devil May Cry 1 Dante and Classic Vergil.
• Turbo Mode — Turbo Mode returns to the Devil May Cry series, with the game running 20% faster in this mode.
• Hardcore Mode — Hardcore mode retains the experience of DmC, but with a throwback to the classic Devil May Cry games in terms of balance. In this mode, which can be toggled on all difficulty levels, the style system has been rebalanced to make ranking up much harder and ranks deteriorate much quicker. In addition, Devil Trigger doesn’t launch enemies into the air, parrying takes more skill, and all enemies hand out more damage.
• Manual Target Lock — We’ve seen more requests for this than any other feature! The manual target lock works as closely to the classic Devil May Cry lock on as possible and has fully configurable controls.
• Vergil Bloody Palace — Only second to Manual Target Lock in terms of the number of fan requests! This is a new Bloody Palace mode featuring 60 levels and Vergil as the playable character.
• Must Style Mode — This is a hardcore modifier on an epic scale that can be played over any difficulty level. Players must be at an S rank or higher to deal any damage to enemies.
• Gods Must Die Difficulty Mode — This is DmC Definitive Edition’s hardest difficulty mode. It takes DmC’s ridiculously hard Dante Must Die mode and adds a touch more punishment: All enemies spawn with Devil Trigger active and no items or health drops can be used.
• Rebalanced and Retuned — We’ve studied fan feedback and made a whole host of tweaks and balance changes. The style system has been rebalanced, as have bosses. Exploits have been fixed in combat and some of Dante’s moves rebalanced, such as the Demon Evade. Gameplay tweaks have been made following hardcore player testing; frames have been removed from Kablooey shots, Parry/Evade windows adjusted, and collectibles, keys and doors redistributed.
• Integration of Popular Community Mods — DmC Definitive Edition includes community mods such as an optional timer disable for Bloody Palace Mode, a triple dash for Angel Evade, and the ability to hit red and blue enemies with any weapon.
• New Cutscene — an added cinematic scene that never made it into the original.

Oh ok. I wasn't really checking for this game like that. I'll probably still play the PS3 version and check this one out a few years down the line.

I just remembered that The Evil Within DLC dropped today, I might have to check it out.

CE is cool, but the actual arm that comes with it is tiny!  Still, one of the better CE's I've seen in a while regardless.

Here's a comparison to the 1:1 arm that comes with the Japan only premium package.

Its very Terminator-esque with that hand.  Just give me the damn Day 1 game, eff all that collector's stuff thats just gonna find the way at the bottom of a box, in storage, or collecting dust somewhere on display with a bunch of other random things.

This.

I've come to terms that I am not going to buy all the re-releases for PS4, as I have played most of them. It just offers a different experience a few years down the road when I want to play through TLoU or TR again.
