The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Bloodborne won't be goty. It will be whatever game appears out of nowhere and seemingly does something new and innovative like Shadow of Mordor did last year and people won't shut up about it. Like dishounored 2 or tomb raider fits that bill. That kinda game

IMO, it will be BloodBorne, Witcher 3 or Arkham Knight that will get GOTY.

I haven't beat it either.

I can't remember the game mechanics but no way I'm i restarting the game and going through the first 2 hours of no gameplay again

This.

I know JRPGs have a tendency to start slow sometimes but those first couple hours of P4 was just unbearable for me.
Yeah it was a struggle at first

But even though I haven't beat it yet, it's still one of my favorites and I'm really looking forward to P5

I still haven't played Persona 4 yet.
It's like a dating sim met pokemon and had a weird beautiful baby

What do dishonored 2 and tomb raider do new and innovative?

Well tomb raider is doing different stuff with eearher and dynamic environments/ animals, and a branching hub world but I was more or less using those 2 games as an example of the type that would win. Blood borne is too niche. More people are going to play that 3rd party action adventure game etc. Shooters almost never win.

I could see zelda winning if it actually comes out this year

I'm only (somewhat) joking about GOTY stuff.

I know most of the gaming barely ever gets this **** right.

I think Shadow of Mordor won some GOTY awards because quite frankly, there wasn't a whole lot else out. I'm not knocking the game but what else was there really to compete with?

Absolutely. We'll see how it stacks up to the games in the running this year.

I'm guessing not very favorably.

The ps4 doesn't need good exclusives to sell well, but it does to justify owning one.

I havent played it yet (just about to this weekend) but DA:I sounds like was a bit grander. I am not a huge fan of SoM. It's good, not goty to me though.

Dragon Age was probably the only legitimate GOTY title but I didn't play it so I didn't want to compare. Xbox is doing free trial so I'm going to try it out this weekend as well. I'm sure it'll drop to $20-$30 soon enough so if I like it I can scoop it up then.

Shadow of Mordor is not GOTY material, my opinion. Excluding remasters what else was there? I left out Nintendo because I know most in here have not played any of those gems.

Also for what it's worth, I haven't played DA:I but the people who I know that have played it, give it high praise which is why I made that statement.

Forza Horizon 2 is great fun but not GOTY either imo
