The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

A week? No. Id say 6 months. The game has gone on sale (in most cases), most DLC has dropped, ect.

Even then, dont go out of your way to spoil major plot points.

What I'm was getting at is that this supposed timeline to spoil something is subjective.

It's effortless to use spoilers.

Using spoilers to talk about the plot of said game(regardless of age) is being considerate of those who haven't heard of the game, are new to gaming, or etc.

My man.

It's wild how asking for such an easy act of consideration from others is laughed at.

If you just randomly bring up a game/movie etc then yeah, Spoiler up any big plot points.

But if a conversation is already going on about something that's been out for a decent amount of time and you see that, stay in the thread and get spoiled, that's your fault IMO.

Like I said, I never played Red Dead Redemption. Saw all the talk about how good the game was, decided I'll cop it, and dipped out of the thread so I wouldn't have the game spoiled.

What I look like telling everyone to use spoiler tags because I haven't played one of the most critically acclaimed games of last gen that came out in 2010

Sephiroth kills Aerith

You play Revan in Kotor 1

"Would You Kindly" in Bioshock = Mind control phrase

Please. You're the last person on Niketalk to tell me about getting off topic.

I agree that using spoilers is the best way to go about this. But if you roll into this thread that you rarely participate in, and then are offended something was spoiled for you about a game that is 4 years old... sorry for your luck.

It's like this.. There were 3 or 4 guys in here talking about how they never played it.. And there were interested... imo, it's a douche thing to do to post spoilers, as guys are asking how the game is...

I think the game-spoiler business has very little to do with how old a game is.
I think it deals more with the level of considerateness a person has or doesn't have.
Therefore, it doesn't matter matter how old a game is.
An inconsiderate person can make up his/her own reasoning as to why he/she is blatantly spoiling something.
You know these people.
The "oh I just saw said movie in theaters, so let me spoil it by telling you what I liked/disliked."
You see it with got, "oh the books came out years ago, so I can talk about anything even though the show isn't up to date with the book."

Agreed. The only reason I mentioned using spoilers is because there were people who said they hadn't played it and planned to. IMO, the age of a game doesn't matter in that case. I've never played the Uncharted games because I didn't have a PS3 , but I plan on playing them at some point so even though they're old, I wouldn't want them spoiled.

uc1/2 were great. I recently played them.

Yep just beat uncharted 1 recently it was still :pimp: and uncharted 2 I know is better than it in every because Naughty Dog improved so well upon it. I'm going through infamous 2 at the moment and I'm really enjoying it then I will play I:SS

What kind of 27" monitor do you guys recommend for gaming on PS3/4? I'm looking for one with a low response time for FPS like Battlefield. $350 is my max.

I recommend BenQ or Asus monitors.. A lot of 2013 models had between 1-3ms response times.. I know MLG used BenQ for Black Ops 2.. I think Ghosts also..

Not gonna lie.... its exciting to hack someone.... didn't like getting hacked.

watchdogs isn't bad.

I hear the online has no lag and is a lot of fun.

I'll spell it out for the one person who has never posted in this thread, and the one person who posts dog pictures.

I've never posted spoilers to a game personally. It sucks getting any game spoiled for you, I openly admit that.

However.

Do not get mad coming into a VIDEO GAME thread, where we discuss VIDEO GAMES, and be mad that a video game that is old enough to have been bought for 9.99 for the last 6 months is being discussed generally. Yes, spoilers should be used if possible. But if an NTer forgets because the information is basically public knowledge at this point, that's on you, not him/her.

And honestly, I have had a couple games spoiled for me and it has not lessened the value of the game to me. This isn't a tv show or movie; you are in it for the experience. If the story is that important, watch the 100's of Youtube commentaries and save yourself $60.
