I know last gen consoles had input lag on 240hz tvs. Only worked properly on 120hz or less.

I brought a 240 HZ tv recently and honestly everything looked weird; from the movies, television, and games. I had to lower it down to 60HZ. Home entertainment just isn't at that level yet; Everything looked TOO SMOOTH and laggy at the same time.
Drunk Thoughts : Even though gaming has definitely declined in quality from the standpoint of a OG from the 80's, being able to play games with your childhood friend from across the country is definitely appreciated.

My tv is 600 but plasmas process images differently.
I think 240 may have been overkill on PS3 which is probably why "smooth lag" happened
On the PS4 it's pretty much 60FPS all the time so there won't be as many extra frames
120hz / 30FPS = 4
240hz / 60FPS = 4
perfect

I've actually been looking for a new TV but have been ignoring deals on 60hz in hopes of coming across a good deal for 120hz. That's just going based off what I read on Google though. Does 120hz vs 60hz make a difference when it comes to gaming? People already told me the screen size does.

Just finished First Light. I think I enjoyed it more than Second Son I just wished it was longer. But then again it was only $15, well worth it.

120hz is better with motion than 60. the difference will be ALMOST as noticeable as 720p vs 1080p quality on a bluray, games, or sports. youll want 120hz where possible honestly. besides with 240 out the price of 120 has dropped. not to mention there are MANY reputable brands out there selling 1080p+120hz for cheap with great quality. however. 240 imo is counterproductive. it gives what many refer to as "the soap opera effect" and things are overly-smooth. it does this by adding extra frames that dont really exist into the picture. when i first saw 240 about 3 years ago... it made my head hurt watching pirates of the caribbean on bluray after just a few minutes. i hated it.
in short (oversimplified)... 240p takes your frames from:
1, 2, 3, 4 and turns it into 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5

Okay cool, I'm glad I passed up on some 60hz deals then. I've been looking for a Samsung 120hz but it seems like they're all Smart TVs now. I feel like it seems pointless since I use my PS4 for entertainment. Only useful feature I can think of is streaming the laptop to the TV and I'm just guessing you can do that. But thank you for the confirmation, repped.

no problem. and yea, smart TVs have become the norm like a smartphone. its actually harder to find "dumb-TVs" (thats literally what theyre called now online) nowadays. but dont fret. its just extra features, up to you whether you use em or not. not to mention, on days where weird stuff happens... like a day or 2 ago when nothing on my ps4 worked because of the maintenance, it woulda been great to be able to use my regular TV's netflix app etc etc.

Your trophies are tied to your PlayStation Network account, so as long as you continue to use the same one on your PS4 you'll be good.

The gameplay is sluggish compared to COD.
The MP can be fun if it's full lobby. However, I don't like waiting 5 secs to respawn.
