The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Games saves are usually minimal, unless its a sports game, or a game like Skyrim.

Game data is what takes up so much room; the install data. I'd suggest leaving any saves you have of games you may come back to down the line, but deleting the game data if you need space. If you play it down the road, you'll just need to re-donload the install, but all your progress will still be there.

You can also take advantage of PS+ saving your game data in the cloud, but it fills up fast.

What would you guys say is your Game of the Year?

I really don't think I'd have one unless you count Remasters in which case I'd say Final Fantasy X HD.

2014 has been consistent with decent games but there was nothing that was a "must have" imo.

I just bought Bravely Default for the 3DS. Based off the demo I played, this will most liley end up being my GOTY.

Also what is your most anticipated game for 2015? Mine is definitely Type-0 HD and Uncharted 4.

At this moment Forza Horizon 2. It could be Super Smash Bros. after I get my hands on the wii u.

Those games are system sellers to me, since they made me get the systems required to play them.

I probably should have waited to cop FH2 and got it for the low. It's not bad but I barely play and I could have saved about $30

Smash is defnitely a system seller. I'm just waiting for my son to open it up on Christmas.... then he can go play with his Skylanders or Disney Infinite 2.0 for PS4

Simply get a laptop hard drive that falls in these categories:
  • 2.5 inch (internal type) *1
  • Serial ATA (Parallel ATA is not supported)
There are four main steps to replacing a hard disk drive.
  1. Back up your data.
  2. Replace the hard disk drive.
  3. Reinstall the system software.
  4. Restore data that has been backed up.
Biggest HDD I have seen installed is 2TB
[h3]Back up saved data for games[/h3]
You can copy saved data that is stored on the PS4[emoji]8482[/emoji] system to a USB storage device. You can also copy saved games to the cloud if you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber.

To back up saved data, you must update the system software and be signed in to PSN.
  1. Connect a USB storage device to the system.
  2. Select (Settings) from the function screen.
  3. Select [Application Saved Data Management] > [Saved Data in System Storage] > [Copy to USB Storage Device].
  4. Select a title.
  5. Press X to add a checkmark in the checkbox for the saved data you want to copy, and then select [Copy].

  1. Make sure the PS4 it turned completely off. When the power indicator is off, the system is completely off. If the power indicator is lit up in orange, the system is in standby mode. Exit standby mode.
  2. Unplug the AC power cord, and then disconnect the other cables from the system.
  3. For safety reasons, remove the plug for AC power cord from the electrical outlet, and then detach the other cables.
  4. Slide the HDD bay cover in the direction of the arrow to remove it.
  5. Remove the HDD.
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Pull the HDD toward the front of the system to remove it.
  6. Using a phillips screwdriver, remove the screws (four places).
Do not remove the rubber inserts from the screw holes.
  7. Place the replacement HDD on the mounting bracket for the PS4[emoji]8482[/emoji] system's HDD, and then attach using the screws (four places).
    Do not over-tighten the screws.
  8. Attach the HDD to the system using the screw.
Be sure to fully insert the HDD in the HDD bay.

They'll put out a update with added support for external hard drives once they get enough complaints about hard drives maxing out with no expansion options. We're dealing with a hardware first, software second company.

Just looked at the Game of the Year nominees for the game awards this friday.

Bayonetta 2

Dark Souls 2

Game of the year, for me personally, is Destiny. It has a bunch of problems to be sure, but the merging of FPS and MMO were perfect for me.

Some close contenders...

Valiant Hearts

D3: Reaper of Souls

Southpark: Stick of Truth

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy (again, not perfect, but I really enjoyed it)

at iYen having me on ignore. Tell me what I did so I can spread the gospelG

Game of the year for me would probably be TLOU remastered. It was my first time experiencing the game so I'm sure that had a lot to do with it.

I really liked Bravely Default and TOX2 as well

I want to get back on Destiny, all I have is a level 24 or 26 Titan. I just have too much of an interest in other games at the moment

LR:FF still has to be beaten, started over and get thrashed by the first boss

Noel is a beast, even on Easy

Still haven't played TLOU. I downloaded it on my PS3 but I haven't been able to pull myself away from Battlefield 4 since it came out over a year ago.

I liked ToX2. I probably enjoyed it more than ToX1 but that debt system

Looking forward to Bravely Default. That demo gave me faith that SE can still produce a good classic turned based JRPG.

I'd recommend watching this opening scene if you need a reason why it's worth starting tlou by the end of this week.

Bravely Default is a great game, I think it will restore a glimmer of faith in SE lol
