The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Beat TLOU on Normal and Hard this past week, just started grounded and I really like it so far.....

I'll probably give the DLC a try once grounded gets too hard lol :nerd:

You guys playing TLOU on PS4? Any of you play it on PS3? How much better does it look? I'm gonna pick it up for the 4. I thought it looked pretty great on 3.

So is Uncharted 4 the last one? :frown:. With as many Tomb Raider games we've gotta, Naughty Dog has to give us more, dont they? :/

I played both on PS3 and now on PS4. It looks great on the PS3 but on the PS4, imo, it looks AMAZING!! I can't really say it looks that much better because I haven't played it on PS3 in over a year.

I'm not sure that ND has confirmed that this will be the last Uncharted game but "A Thief's End" kind of makes me think this is it for Nathan Drake

, I hope not.

if ND wanted they could probably make more uncharteds without Nathan Drake. they could make somebody to replace him and make nate a side character depending on what happens in the new uncharted. but it does seem like the end of the story for nate tho

I was thinking the same thing. I'm sure ND would make a good game without Nate but I'd prefer them to just not make another Uncharted if it doesn't include Nate and Sully.

Uncharted series is great, but I think it's time for them to finish it.  Plus, ND has already proven that they can create new IPs that are equally as good, so I want to see what else their team can come up with.

I understand that and as much as I enjoy TLOU I still like Uncharted more. If they decide to do a new IP and finish Uncharted, I just hope they don't go back to making games like Ratchet and Clank, Crash etc. That's not a knock on those games but I just think ND is on higher plateau now.

any chance of HBOgo or Youtube being on PS4??

pardon the noob question.

i will

The parts I thought I'd have the most difficult time with actually weren't as bad (aside from one) on survivor. A few of the parts I had no problem with on normal became my issues.

Yeah ik what you mean. The dynamic Nate and sully share is great as well as all the characters in uncharted. ND really knows how to make some lovable characters imo. Idk if I would want an uncharted game without Nate tho. I wonder if they will do a protege thing where a new character will succeed Nate. I just want to see what happens in the new uncharted already! 2015 is gonna be a big year for these consoles

If they decide to end it with A Thief's End, then I hope they can at least Remaster Uncharted 1-3. As far as a new IP, I would like to see what they can do with survival horror.

This right here.

ND made a new ip and boom it's on it's way to selling 10 million when all is said and done. I'll love for them to create more ip's, that way there's less chance of franchise fatigue.

Can you imagine how good the game will be though if they created a 3D platformer. It doesn't sound like their studio is getting any smaller and they don't take their time like SE.

3D platformers don't have to be visually stunning though.  In fact a platformer with Uncharted visuals sounds

... easy pass.  Platformers to me should be quirky.  ND is beyond that already.

Thats like asking Polyphony to make a go kart game.

I just really enjoyed Uncharted and believe that they could continue the franchise. If it's not coming out every year I don't think fatigue would set in. Assuming that Uncharted 4 drops Winter 2015 they could focus on a new IP and come back to TLOU or Uncharted 5 for a 2017-2018 release. Again, I'm just a fan of the series and understand that others would prefer them to foucs on new IPs which is understandable.

I'm sure they could make a beautiful 3D platformer but I don't think it would generate the type of buzz or dollars that TLOU did. Personally, I wouldn't spend $60 on a platformer unless it was a Mario game (even then I would still hesitate but nostalgia would kick in

). At this point I'm sure whatever ND does will be a big hit.

Yep. I think ND is done with that genre. I think they'll stick to third person action adventure type games.

I don't understand the complaints with colorful platformers in comparison to photo-realistic games. I would love a new IP AAA colorful platformer. I miss the days when hack-and-slash action games, platformers, and JRPG's were more abundant. As much as I love shooters or action games with guns, it's a genre that's incredibly over-saturated.

There are Pixar movies that have better, more compelling, and interesting stories than movies acted out with real people. I feel like people perceive these games a certain way because of their exterior. The same way people hate on indy games. Also, a lot of platformers are just plain fun and really good games. Super Mario 3D World is one of the best games that came out last year.

I don't want Naughty Dog to make any game they're not interested in making, but I feel like saying they're "above" platformers or speaking about platformers like they're these lesser games is ridiculous.
