The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Finally finished playing Uncharted 2 the other day, **** was literally like a movie. Took me almost a year since I had first started playing since my brother is always on the PS3.

Gonna start Uncharted 3 now, then try to finish God of War 3 and then start on The Last of Us.

Since this is the playstation thread, anybody have a suggestion for the cheapest option to buy a new PS4 right now?

I had no idea The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was scheduled to be released Feb 25, 2015. February is about to be a crazy month

Been wanting Rime ever since it was revealed last year. It's a Team Ico game not made by Team Ico. It's not like The Last Guardian is coming anytime soon. |I

Fingers crossed for TGS to show the Ratchet Remake, more Deep Down, and a new JRPG. Maybe Level-5 will have something that's not Wonder Flick.

Surprise, surprise.
Yesterday, Microsoft dropped the first bomb of Gamescom 2014: that Rise of the Tomb Raiderwill be an Xbox exclusive. Except, wait. It's not.

Turns out this was yet another a case of shady corporate double-speak, and this is actually atimed  exclusive. "Yes, the deal has a duration," Xbox boss Phil Spencer told Eurogamer. "I didn't buy it. I don't own the franchise."

In other words, when they said yesterday that the next big Tomb Raider  game is an Xbox exclusive, what they really meant is that it'll be out first on Xbox (both 360 and One), and then it'll come later to other platforms.

Spencer wouldn't elaborate on how big of a window he paid for. "There are certain things I'm just not going to talk about because it's a business deal between us and then. Obviously the deal does have a duration. I didn't buy the IP in perpetuity."
I think we know already. NT's most unbias, in-the-know member told us 5 years.

All I need from TGS is a release date/window for Final Fantasy XV and Type-0 HD.

A Ni no Kuni sequel would be nice too considering the success the first one had.

Any turn based JRPG would be welcomed with open arms.

An announcement for Star Ocean 5 would be greatly appreciated.

All wishful thinking

Had no idea they were dropping a white Xbox One as well. Whoever gets both is going to have a beautiful set up :pimp:

Okay, so the new Tomb Raider is a time exclusive.

I don't mind, better than the alternative of not being able to play it at all.

But we know Sony is way ahead in sales, and it's going to stay way ahead no matter how much you love that garbage dance music in FH2.

When you look at the projected lineups for each console Sony is killing MS IMO. Titanfall didn't really move units like it was expected to. That leaves you with Halo: MCC, Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive, Gears 4, Quantum Break and Crackdown. PS4 has Bloodborne, DriveClub, Hellblade, Little Big Planet 3, The Order: 1886, Silent Hills (not sure if exclusive), Uncharted 4, Until Dawn, Everybody's Gone to Rapture and also some of Sony's biggest studios have not announced their games yet.

I know that most of the games I listed are not system sellers and I intentionally left off indie games. It just seems that as of now Sony has a lot more variety to offer compared to MS. If I was on the fence about which console to purchase and I enjoyed different types of games, I'd go with the PS4. 4 of MS's biggest upcoming titles are shooters (5 if you count Crackdown, I'm not sure if that is conseidered a shooter or not).

If MS was willing to pay for timed exclusitivity for TR, that makes me think that they don't have a lot planned for next year, I could be wrong though. All in all, I don't see MS catching Sony no time soon, just my opinion though.
