The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

XV's composer is Yoko Shimomura. She has done amazing work. Most notably the Kingdom Hearts series and I think she worked on a couple fighters... possibly Street Fighter.

I finished the COD AW campaign yesterday. It was impressed. Sledge didn’t take COD to new heights

, but they damn sure tried. To me, the exo suit was a lame gimmick. I mainly used dashes to run away. I usually dislike CGI cutscenes in games, but COD's looked so good! At various points in the campaign, I'm like "Is this real life?" Since they CGI looked so good, it felt like Kevin Spacey was in the flesh in the game. When they did a close-up of his face, I couldn't tell it was CGI. The campaign was enjoyable and did a well job of flexing it's COD muscles(Look at this awesome thing you're about to do.)

The multiplayer was same great gameplay I've come to expect, but the exo-suit did nothing for me. It mainly allows me to run away faster. As much as Sledge tried to sell the exo-suit to you, I just felt the double jump, dash, etc didn't belong in COD. I had more fun in the classic playlists than in the "regular playlists." Titanfall implementation of the boost jump is far superior than cod aw's attempt.

I liked Ghost's multiplayer better than this.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If there's one thing you can rely on with FF games, it's great music. I remember playing Crisis Core on the PSP and was blown away by how good the OST was for a portable game.

@Iyen, FFXIII-2 also had great music, which reminds me that I still need to pick up Lightning Returns.

Takeharu Ishimoto was the guy who composed Crisis Core, Dissidia and Type-0

It was this track that made me hyped for Type-0

FFXV Tech Demo Volume 1 HD - Love this track as well.

This has already prolly been asked, but if I do the Target deal, will Wal-Mart exchange the 2 games without a receipt? Trying to pick up Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age.

People are saying that Walmart has started to tighten the grip on returns, especially electronics. It's kind of a crap shoot.

Thank you!

I was wiking the composer you mentioned. I think this will be of interest to you.
'Tour de Japon - Music from Final Fantasy' was a seven concert, six city tour across Japan featuring 90 minutes of symphonic Final Fantasy music. It premiered in Yokohoma on March 12, 2004 and concluded on April 26, 2004 in Osaka. - The videos released of this tour were taken at the Bunkamura Orchard Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo. | Original composition by Nobuo Uematsu | Arrangement by Shiro Hamaguchi | Conducted by Taizou Takemoto

Music that touches your soul.

A composer I'd recommend to you is Senju Akira.

FF XIII's music was okay but to be honest FF hasn't had a GREAT soundtrack since X imo. Nobou Uematsu is the greatest video game music composer EVER!!
Any ds4 camo or white sales?

I usually just run with my brother and another friends since I have little experience with MMOs. I'm currently in a 24 week IT certification program so I have little to no time to play games, especially not an MMO. Once May 2015 hits tho

If I didnt have Destiny I'd glady join you. I had a level 50 Paladin but stopped playing due to my friends dropping out.

I really love that game... if they didnt have the subscription fee I'd be in. I understand why they need it, but there are just too many games to dedicate that cash.

If you just started please check out Mizzteq's guides. If you have any questions about the game I'd be happy to help as well.

She has content guides for every encounter that we've cleared. If you ever want to watch us do end game content to see what it's like, follow her at

Thanks, I've been watching MrHappy's youtube channel but its more so for advanced post main story and level 50 stuff. I will definitely keep you in mind for help. I have two guildleve's that I need to look up online because they are confusing as hell.

I tried to do one group raid so far and this chick spazzed on this other guy and myself for being noobs.

I'll be sure to hit you up for help.

Honestly, this happens ALOT. As a MMO beginner, playing on PS3, and being in the tank role, I got BLASTED my first few runs.

Yeah my brother has both tank roles at lvl 50 but he was getting DESTROYED by the community. Now he is the go to guy for raids. He was ecstatic when they announced the Dark Knight tank role
laugh.gif
He always tells me that I'm cut out for MMOs because of my temper. He says the FF XIV community can be harsh and I don't take criticism from strangers too well

You're going to hear a leak soon about FF7 being "In development" for PS4. This is not what you think. DO NOT get your hopes up. I am not being sarcastic.

PLAYSTATION 4 CONTINUES TO OUTPACE PS2, CHALLENGING WII FOR FASTEST-SELLING CONSOLE

View media item 1260934

In a conversation with IGN, Sony Computer Entertainment America's President and CEO Shawn Layden confirmed that PS4 has continued to sell at a high rate, outpacing PlayStation 2's astounding sales a year out from their respective releases.

PS4's success "certainly surprised some analysts who will go unnamed in this conversation, who have been announcing the death of console for quite some time," he said. "The next-gen platforms right now -- I don't have the numbers -- this generation has grown faster, further, wider, broader than any other game generation in the past. PlayStation 4 is leading that entire charge in next-gen."

Noting that PS4 has reached 13 and a half million units shipped before its first birthday, with continued strong sales and demand, Layden said that, "people think PS2 was the biggest thing to ever happen to gaming of all-time; we are pacing above the PS2 run rate." PlayStation 2, which launched in the fall of 2000, sold over 150 million units during its lengthy lifespan.

"We have tablets, we have mobile, there's many other devices people are playing games across," he continued, "but in the end, the ultimate gaming experience is on your sofa in front of your big screen, having the most immersive experience possible. And I think that's what next-generation is bringing to everybody."

While PS4's sales are outpacing PS2, Nintendo's Wii -- launched in the fall of 2006 -- is another story worth noting. Severely supply constrained during its first year on the market, Wii's sales ticked-up significantly by the end of 2007. Nintendo had a strong holiday season in 2007, and by April of 2008, nearly 25 million Wii consoles were in the wild, a number Sony is very unlikely to match.

That means that, when the dust settles, PS4 will likely find itself in second place when judging the fastest-selling console a year (or so) from release, and will likely lag far behind Wii -- which was a cultural phenomenon during its early years -- by the spring. Still, besting PlayStation 2's year one sales -- considering it's the best-selling home console of all-time by a mile -- is quite the feat.

As for PlayStation 4, its meteoric success is well-documented, and now we have some perspective about where it sits a year out from release when compared to the industry's two other massive year one successes: PlayStation 2 and Wii. After selling a million units in a single day, PS4's sales haven't slowed enough to knock it back into historic norms. It has outsold the Xbox One for 10 months in a row in the US, and Sony recently revealed, as mentioned earlier, that it's shipped 13 and a half million units worldwide.

We'll have much more from our conversation with Shawn Layden very soon.
