The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Yeah...Sony is winning this generation so far, it's not even a debate.

Forza 2-4 and Forza Horizon are great, great games. I dont doubt F5 and FH2 are just as good.

That said, PS3/4 will have very similar games dropping in Drive Club, Project Cars, GT7, and a few others. Not enough difference to compel me to buy a system.

GRID Autosport coming next week looks to have me covered for racing games this summer.

As far as music goes, I always used my own music whenever I could on PS3. RR Aston Martin Music driving a DB9.... 8)

Haven't really kept up with the console wars but can someone tell me why i should choose a ps4 over an xbox1? :nerd:

Key points for me is:

  • More powerful so multiplatform games will look and perform better but the true performance will be shown in the exclusives.
  • PS+ is cheaper than Live and gives you 2 games every month.
  • Game library is subjective butt if last gen was anything to go by, PS4 will receive more support from Japan and they are far ahead when it comes to indie games. I also prefer their first party devs.
  • The ecosystem is better due to the connectivity with PSVita and PSTV, there's also PS Now on the way too

Yea, the Crew is massive. I still need to see more of it though.

@prime
All i'm saying is that xb1 had great offering even though it's less powerful.
Games are what matter to me.
I've put almost 28 hours into horizon, so i have no doubt that horizon 2 will deliever.

True. I'm not mad at that. I have put in countless hours into all of the GT's so I know that feel.
Forza needs to be ported over to the master race so I don't have to buy anymore systems.

Mod that ***** out.

I could care less about console wars but why does everyone say that Xbox is better for shooters? The biggest console shooters are multiplat. I assume it's because of Halo and Gears. If that's the case then I'd have to agree. Xbox Live ain't what it use to be. I don't hear people talking on PS4 or X1. I'd say the communities are even as far as communication. I never realized how much party chat ruined things.

Its not "better".

Obviously if we look at hardware, its not "better" at anything.

Xbox is just the standard console for FPS. It was marketed as one last gen, the 360 had a superior online community, the FPS were developed for the 360 and ported over to the PS3, and it got DLC releases first.

That was last generation though. This gen has a clean slate. Aside from Titanfall (for now) and Halo (and possibly gears), there's really nothing that microsoft has over sony as far as FPS' go.

The online communities are neck and neck, and with almost every shooter releasing coming out for both consoles except halo, there's really no "better" system for FPS anymore.

Quite honestly, the best way to play a FPS is on a PC. But thats a big investment.

And party chat is the best thing to ever happen to me. Its one of the biggest things I had to get over when leaving the 360 for PS3 let gen. Rainbow 6 + Party Chat = GOAT

I love watching streams on Live with PlayStation. I go there to see what everyone is playing and find myself watching for over 30 mins sometimes. That UFC game is dope. I just want a Fight Night.

I bought a 1TB SSHD along with my PS4 at launch so I've never experienced the speed difference if there is any of the normal drive.

I put the 500GB from the PS4 into my PS3 for the PS+ games.

hey id like to do the same thing. i have the fat 80gb model PS3 tho, does it matter?

could you PM me a tutorial if so?

my PS3 i dont even think has a gig left and i still havent even installed Uncharted 3 and Batman Arkham City..

also, is there another Destiny Beta? like someone said a few posts back im having withdrawls

 900p vs 1080p. We talking bout 180p?

Resolution mattered last gen when 360 was on top of PS3. Why shouldn't it matter now?

Trust me, people who say the difference between Native 1080p v 720p is negligible are lying, blind or never seen what they are arguing about. If any of those naysayers played on a PC for a week, with resolution being Native 1080 they would change their minds, but most brainwashed people think upscaled1080 and native 1080 are the same :smh: . Also that 10% percent Gpu reserve from the kinect wont do much, probably add more AI or particles effects.

@sole vintage
Resolution doesn't matter to the general gamer, imo. Xb1 is capable of 1080p/60fps. Again i don't think most people will care about the 180p that they're missing out on. They 'll be to busy enjoying their games. For me personally, i'd buy multiplats on the xb1 because i like the controller better. Regardless of the fact that the resolution isn't the best.

My bro has a pc. When i saw bioshock infinite on it was surprised at how much better the graphics were in comparison to the 360. However, i dislike pc controls so i played infinite on my 360. For some people, controls matter over resolution.

It depended on what the developer wants. Bungie used to to boost the resolution. Could've been 900 before, who know. Insomniac used it to add more enemies

You're talking like an elitist right now. Keep in mind you're talking about a 180p difference, that I bet you can't notice without being told which is 1080p or 900p.

900p isn't a low resolution.

I didn't like Infinite, so playing it on a pc wouldn't have made my experience more enjoyable.

I still play Spyro. That game's graphics aren't great, yet I enjoy it more than most games of this gen and last gen.

Best performance isn't a key feature to stress on, when the performance difference is miniscule.

You're trying to make it seem like the ps4 is a ferrari and the xb1 is a mini van.

When really they're both sports sedans with different features.
