jimmies will be ruffled

If the changes are good ones that improve the story then people should be open to it. My friend is a traditionalist and hates all of the changes the show has made. The majority of fans have talked about book 4 being the weakest of the series so I like that they're trying to make it better for tv.

but isn't season 4 suppose to be part two of book 3?
They can't change too much or people who do read will be pissed

I have enjoyed most changes from the show (even as a book reader) but I reckon at this point more people have read the book than watched the show possibly. (the people who want to know what's next)

So i'm partly through the 2nd book.
Arya was never Tywinn's servant girl?  I thought that was great in the TV series.
IMO a nice touch the TV series added to the book

edit: Bran chapters are my favorite chapters.  So much more detail in the books with his dreams

My mistake. The article didn't mention stuff from book 4 being included in season 4. For the purists, they should realize that changes are to be expected when doing works in different mediums. The showrunners kinda want to put their own spin on the story.

I understand, plus they're going to have to slow it down a bit considering book 6 doesn't come out til sometime next year and book 7 who knows.
I'm guess they want this to be sort oa a 8 season show. gotta do stuff before Arya and Bran get to much older.

I read the article again and it said that they might expand on the 2nd half of book three since it doesn't seem like there would be enough for a whole season. No mention of having book 4 in there, my mistake.

I'm just excited for a new season. Now the long wait for spring and the premiere like the people in the North who have to endure winter.

It's been over a year since I read book 3, so im trying to think about what they can really expand on in book 3.????
I know they really like what Little finger has brought to the show. maybe more of him.

a little extra shay and tyrion

Defintely more Tyrells and Tywin.

best scene

won't let me post the gif because the gif title has w h o r e s in it

I thought that was a nice addition as well. The guy who plays Tywin is an awesome actor, I'm all for more screen time for him.

just finished season 3.
Can anyone tell me which book to read to pick up where season 3 left off? Knocked out season 1-3 in like 1.5 weeks lol, and now I wanna know what happens next. So I'm thinking of getting the book where the events of season 3 end.

I would advise not doing that. If you want to skip book 1 then all you need to do is watch this:

I would HIGHLY recommend not skipping book 2. The House of the undying section (which was totally botched in the show) and everything involving Quaithe in the book is more than enough to justify a full read. Buy A Clash of Kings and read on from there.

I think season 4 will pick up about halfway through book 3.

Which leads me to my question. Ive finished books 1 and 2, should I keep reading and read through 3 or experience it first with the show. I have the book here calling my name but I've been holding out.

that's sort of a hard question considering the things they tweaked and we're not 100% sure of what they will do story wise since its been said they were going to keep tweaking things. I say read through it. because the show changes are still good but the book adaptation is better.

only thing the show has over the book imo is Lady olena and Tywin.interactions that weren't in the book

I was in the same predicament, all I can say is I don't regret reading the rest
