He had a good thing going with the Lannisters. Jon telling Robert the truth could potentially mess that up. Plus the news would cause a stir and give him more opportunities to get ahead.

Thats not entirely accurate.
Bran is the only one who can warg in to them Arya and jon had dreams. But it was never clarified that they warged.
Sansa and Robb were never said to have had warged or even have those dreams.

This is where the show didnt do too much justice. In the book some said catelynn was as beautiful as cersi. With the auburn hair and fair skin

Also gotta remember. Show made them out to be like 40s in the book they are high 30s.
