Does GoT has an expanded universe type thing like Star Wars, etc?

Would be dope to see a series done on the Targeryan rule. Basically a prequel to the GoT series.

Because of a certain spoiler about a returning character (in the books), it's been two weeks in a row that I've expected to see that particlar person anytime they're in the woods or near rive

didnt read but...
lost and fhound?

in regards to Arya's name chant I don't think the names she leaves out are as deep as yall are making it out to be, is it outside the realm of possibility that maybe word got around to Braavos about Tywin dying like any other gossip? the Mountain technically isn't dead (btw he was in the last episode underneath a white sheet on the right side of the screen after they delivered that dwarf head to Cersei)

as for her not mentioning Illyn Payne I'm sure that's due to him being written off the show because the actor has terminal cancer

:nerd:

Did not catch that. Something to look out for next time I watch that episode.

I heard it was initial 7, but HBO wants 10 or something

After the second episode of season 1 HBO realized they found a gold mine. They said they wanted to do 10 years since almost day 1. Dan and Dave did not want to stretch the material but GRRM said there is a lot of content.

HBO will be fine after GoT. They've been gold for years man. I've watched HBO every year since I was 13 yrs old watching OZ..... i'll be 31 this year. They consistently put out fantastic shows and documentaries and original movies.

Oprah will be good for the rest of her life. Doesn't change the fact that Carlos Slim Helu will be much better. This show ending will bad for them. There is no two ways about it.

hell yea.. with the amount of detail they cut out.. and the characters that they have skipped.. they could have EASILY gone 10 seasons

I think D&D also kept in mind that every season needed to have a satisfying beg, middle, end. If they hadnt cut out so much they would be ending seasons in the most illogical moments.

Im sayin.

Dudes in here must be in their teens if they think HBO gonna fall off because of one show.

HBO survived The Sopranos, The Wire, Sex and the City, and Def Comedy Jam to name a few.

HBO always gonna eat.

No different than the way the Sopranos or Sex In the City ending was bad for them.

Seriously man the way some of you guys are going on you'd think HBO execs where lounged all the way back doing absolutely nothing everyday for the last five years thinking they've found the philosopher's stone in GOT.

Shows ends. GOT is no different. The show (HBO) will go on.

And you guys are acting like were saying that without GoT HBO will go bankrupt

HBO passing on Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and The Walking Dead was also bad for them. Are we saying that HBO isn't going to survive? No.

Second of all those shows werent even close to GoT popularitywise. The Wire had 1 million views per ep. GoT has 15x that. So yes, it's different

Ok, going on you guy's definition of bad for HBO I guess I just don't see the point. It's like stating you're gonna be sad when your dog dies.

I'm not making a groundbreaking conclusion. I am pointing out something obvious, since many people dont see it. The HBO CEO out here sweating tahm bout he wants 10 seasons. You guys out here like "nooooo. HBO aint worried". Obviously they are.

You guys out here acting like ending their most popular show by far is the same as ending The Wire

......The Wire

Sam The Slayer ethered janos slynt or whatever his name was. His MVP speech for Jon was clutch. Jon is a damn fool for not wanting the lordship of Winterfell. I did the weebay gif when he didn't want it. Wish Val was in the show to make the offer even sweeter.

So Dany was mad at that guy who killed the prisoner who didn't get his trial but then she had him executed without a trial of his own? WTH? I haven't read through the recent posts in here but it seems like people are starting to find her annoying. I was waiting for that eventual turn against her.

10 seasons is too long for this show. Do 7-8 and be done with it. They already cut out huge chunks of story and character and want to do 5 more seasons? Plus that's a long commitment for some of the central characters. I wouldn't want to see a lot of re-casts.

I guarantee the show aint going past 7 seasons or theyd have to reimagine events that should've happened and put them near the end of the story. Nah!

You're not making a big groundbreaking conclusion. You're making big, completely unsubstantiated conclusion here.  Executives of multi billion dollar subsidies sweat, it's part of the job. Him saying he'd like to see the show go 10 seasons means nothing.

Again, saying HBO executives are worried about when GOT ends is like saying the NBA should be worried when the NBA Playoffs end.  No, it's part of the business cycle.  We can be almost certain the NBA will have a product to offer again next season. Looking at HBO's track record, we can be fairly certain that they'll find another highly successful product to sell very soon as well.

GRRM actually has tons of mini stories and all are awesome he actually has some space Odyssey ones. the Targeryan rule is boring. I mean a lot of people like it. and would maybe be a good show. but for those who can barely keep up with the cast in this story. you'll be dumb lost with the targeryon rule.

didn't even see that. Great find.

No one is saying HBO is going to fail as a company
But if you think Game of thrones ISN'T the biggest franchise they have ever had you're kidding yourself.
Plus this is the new digital age, they're trying to sale HBO NOW.... HBO currently has no show worth even getting that for other than Game of thrones.
and honestly I can't see any other series they have (Past or present) that would even warrant the purchase of that app.
That Includes. Wire, Sopranos, True Blood, True detective.

Why do you think they made it active THE DAY before GOT was coming on......

There could've been some type of contractual stuff as to why it never came out before then. but come on HBO GO people were just sharing their pws with anyone (like 4 of my friends have mine. )
HBO now and apps like that are set up differently... And HBO knows that now they can get that overseas money but again they wouldn't make that without GOT.

so HBO will always eat. but there is nothing that has ever been as big.

I was overseas for 3 years. sex and the city and sopranos was popular over there but it wasn't played til after the seasons on a HBO affiliate.
GAME of thrones is being played Same day in Every country now I believe

jon and winterfell.
Winterfell is burned to the ground though... there literally is nothing left to it..none of the fam is there...nothing. and if people don't realize Stannis true claim to the realm why should they recognize Jon (although they probably would since everyone knows he's ned's bastard. )

^IDK why that was at me I'm saying the same thing as you.

Nothing like that NBA example. They'll be a new season next year. They aren't scrambling to find another sport to take off

The NBA will be back next year.

Game of Thrones is ending soon and the chances of their next hit being just as popular is slim to none. They don't have **** to replace it with and it seems like they are betting big with Westworld.

They at least had equally popular shows lined up or already starting when those other shows ended. They have nothing equally popular to GoT in the works unless westworld is a mega hit.
