Yeah but it'd be even more doubtful they'd kill off the character just because he wants to film a movie. Kit and emilia have been getting film roles too but they won't get killed off because of their scheduling.

Being free from the show would allow them to film more movies including independent stuff. As of now looks like they manage one movie during the off season, probably could film 2 at the most.

He already has two movies in post-production and two in pre-production. He wants to do more. Not saying he will but I'm sure he's not trying to save Jamie Lannister if it's brought up they're going to kill him off.

Mad King started going paranoid over time, especially after he was held against his will at Duskendale. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. He wanted to burn down King's Landing because it was being sacked by the Lannisters and he wanted to kill as many of them as possible as well as leave nothing but burnt remains for Robert and the rebels. Mad King thought he would survive the inferno and emerge as a dragon. Targaryens often have strange dreams and delusions about dragons which in a lot of cases, causes them to experiment with fire and leads them to their deaths. Is Bran or the 3 Eyed Raven responsible for those dreams, I don't know.
