I wish I haven't heard of the "Breaking Bad the GOAT show" before watching it. I was disappointed. Show was solid though.

Breaking Bad was pitched, some people got fired at HBO after the show blew up for passing on it. My co-workers wife works in their headquarters and said it isn't a fun time when shows blow up on other networks after being passed by HBO. Heads roll

Contrary to popular belief, I don't think that Breaking Bad is all that. It's good, but it's not eye opening like people make it out to be. People call it the GOAT, but it has nothing on The Wire to me. It's probably because I can relate to the setting of The Wire while I can't to Albuquerque and the whole Crystal addiction and suburb life.

I am not all the way through The Wire and I agree that it is way better than Breaking Bad. I hate that long *** intro tho. Also season 3 so far aint as good as the first two imo

Like I said, I dont think breaking bad knew what direction it was headed when the show first started. To me it feels like the show did a complete 180 at one point.

Breaking Bad and Walking Dead on HBO would have been :wow:

I think Walking Dead is hot garbage but on HBO it might've been good. That's just my opinion tho.

If Mad Men had been on hbo then we might've not seen the greatness that is Jon Hamm as Don Draper. I hate how amc breaks their seasons into two parts though. So lame.

I dont think Jon Hamm is the only person who could've pulled off that character imo.

Man them first couple of episodes of the 2nd season of the Wire almost had me call quits

Jon Hamm was born to play Don Draper da gawd b

I seriously don't know how yall don't enjoy Season 2 of the wire ..add so much depth to the series as a whole

Worst season was 3 ..the best was 4 imo

For me it's The Sopranos = Th Wire > Breaking Bad

The Wire > Homeland > GoT > Breaking Bad.

I thought Sopranos was meh...prolly cause I watched after The Wire and it couldn't compete. Holla. Oh, and that third season of House of Cards was hella weak.

That piece of crap ziggy made season 2 almost unwatchable for me. I wanted him to die every time he was onscreen.

The Wire season 4 is probably my favorite single season of TV ever.

McNulty gave even less dambs that season. One of my favorite tv characters.

It's weird thinking about tv shows that aired before twitter, sites like av club, reddit, and streaming services. It's a show that should've gotten more attention from the mainstream when it was airing.

It's a travesty that a show of its caliber never won any Emmy's while a show like BB used to regularly sweep them. Guess it was too real for them

McNulty was straight up crazy yet oddly lovable

Season 5 is the only flaw on the show. McNulty went full ****** in that season
I actually liked season 5 for the way everything really came full circle but yeah McNulty's story took a way unexpected turn that season

The realist part of the show was wen the FBI dude was giving a description of the Serial Killer and was describing McNulty to the T. Lmao had me rolling

I'm watching Ned die as we speak. Smh. One of the hardest things to watch. The Starks take so many Ls

I watch Homeland too but it definitely shouldn't be on a GOAT TV list.

For me... The Wire > The Sopranos = BB, GOT

GOT might move higher depending on how it ends...

Breaking Bad will always be one of my favorites... It was such an enjoyable show to watch...

My goat show is X-Files though... I think I'm a Vince Gilligin Stan...

Kinda hard to compare GOT to some other shows, there's no good or bad guy in this ****. Every one is just a pawn in the Game of Thrones.

Boardwalk Empire was not a selling point for them. No one bought HBO subscriptions to watch Boardwalk. This and True Blood are their first true bangers since Sopranos. TBH its their fault. The guy who wrote Sopranos season 5 and 6 pitched Mad Men to em first and they turned it down and that was a HIT.
HBO should pray to basedgod that Westworld is also a big hit cuz this aint extending to 10 seasons.

I think mad men on amc is fine, it would've been nice to see them sex scenes but at the same time the story isn't only about the sex.
Christinia Hendricks though. ... :smokin :smokin (I dont think shes done a nude scene since 90's early 00s though)

Boardwalk Empire was a good show. , def not as popular as GoT, and True Blood, but I think season 1 and 2 of BE was at least up there with Sopranos.

as far as Breaking bad, BB ended up becoming a great show. but if I was to base it off season 1 and 2. I would say No to it.
I thankf ully started after season 1-4 was already made and season 5 was airing,
so I had that coach up that everyone said, Just keep watching it gets better

without that I would've dropped Breaking bad mid first season

No? Man I love that show. Brody's family is annoying, but I've loved all other story lines. Joint is too tough.

Others care to chime in on it? Maybe I'm the only stan.

I have to catch up.
The last season i watched is when brodie got hung. I gotta get back on it. But up to that point that joint would have my heart beating so fast lol.

while we're off GoT topic for a sec

Anyone watch True Detective? I'm on ep 5 of season 1 and their plan to have a new story every season seems like an amazing thing
Matthew Mc, got me questioning my self and beliefs the way talks in this series. such a good actor
