I think they way he was brought back was kinda corny, the whole scene with davos convincing melisandre to try. Also seems like a lot more corny "one-liner" and dialogue this season.
But it's good to see Jon Snow back and the salty one living up to his name with that long winded post.

While I agree that the writing so far has been worse than seasons past (because it's D&D's writing, not GRRM's), I thought the pep talk Davos gave Melisandre was pretty good. Some of Tyrion's lines were cringe-worthy though, specifically the "punch me in the face" and "that's what I do, I drink and I know things" lines.
