Question about Jamiee and the Mad King. If he were to explain that the mad king was planning on burning the entire city down, would people look at him as a hero, or still the kingslayer? How deep do these oaths go?
The Kingsguard oath is a serious oath. Every one knew that Aerys was nuts, they called him "The Mad King" for a reason. It wasn't up to Jaime to kill him though, regardless of his crazy orders. I think that whole situation is meant to illustrate the types of moral dilemmas that happen in Westeros. Jaime did the right thing because he saved the city from being destroyed and saved countless lives (even though it was being sacked). But as a member of the Kingsguard he had to protect the King and royal family. That era of the Kingsguard was one of the best eras. Barristan Selmy and Arthur Dayne were both serving during that time.

if the slaves in meereen found religion in the lord of light, then i guess they would never go back into a life of slavery
As apposed to the freedom they have now? The Red Priests/Priestesses are telling people to follow Danny because she is the chosen one. I can see the slavers having a problem with that, but I personally think its simple. They saw Danny is gone and took advantage of that and attacked the city.
well the freedom they have now is supposedly only 7 years long

i meant after the 7 years they wouldnt want to go back

You got it wrong. Tyrion gave the masters 7 years to completely abolish slavery.

- Where is Varys going?

- Wildfire?

Thinking of picking up A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms to read in the off-season. Has anyone read it?

why did the masters attack after tyrion made that deal?
They never planned on honoring the deal.

Probably just went there to make sure Dany and her dragons weren't around so they'd have a chance to take the city and wipe out the unsullied.

I bet the red priestesses calming down the public also made the masters feel their window was closing.

This whole thing about Arya and other characters having a pointless storyline is funny as there are 2 seasons left. Some of these arcs are slow burns.

Arya learning the trades of assassins after having her parents and brother killed is pointless? She could have gotten the Sansa treatment
While I feel it's partially pointless that's cuz I feel like her training isn't finished. We saw her be trained to fight. Not be an assassin. She really didn't learn or were given some big advantages. Her first mission was to poison a woman by just blending in. She showed more skill when she was sweeping and washing bodies then decided to steal a face and kill that pedophile.

As of now, she couldn't beat the Hound, the Mountain to get to Cersi. Don't think he's on her list but I doubt she could beat a left handed Jaime.

So she'd be bringing some "assassin skills" to kill who? I'm preparing myself for a reach or convienent situation when she does kill somebody on her list. Like the Mountain will be dead, immobile or preoccupied with fighting soldiers while Arya kills Cersi. The best thing she could do is kill Tommen in front of a helpless Cersi but I dunno if Arya ever got that dark or ruthless to kill somebody who has done nothing to her family or her.

-I think that Edmure cut a deal with Jaime. Something along the lines of, you give me your uncle and I'll have the Freys free you and you can have your titles back. If not for that, then why would he let the Lannisters in? Remember Frey looking at Jaime and telling him that this better not backfire? Well it easily could have and Edmure could have stayed in his castle and fought them off with his uncle. Instead he let them in because he is tired of being held captive and couldn't care less about his uncle who told his captors to cut his throat if they pleased.

Jaime also threatened to launch Edmure's kid from a catapult. It's not in the Freys best interest to restore Edmure's titles. They already have the Riverrun heir via Edmure's son. At this point, they can just have Edmure whacked.

The kid is still a Tully tho.

Edmure has never seen the kid, how does he even know if he exist

Biggest mental collapse in the whole series

The more I think about it This kid (Arya) is kind of a psycho. She really sat there and cut that girls face off.

Not really that psycho when you consider that we've seen a dude burn his daughter because a priestess told him it would help him win a war. This is the same priestess that gave birth to a demon child who killed his brother.

Welcome to GoT

I mean she was working in that temple that had thousands of cut off faces on display. Cutting off one ain't no thang to her.

As she should :smokin

She didn't even bother cleaning it off before handing it to Jaqen

Nah she was being extra though  It was basically giving Jaqen the finger.

"I killed the flunky you sent. Eff you, her and your religion. Here's her face"

Jaqen outta pop up on her one day wearing the Waif's face, like what's good.

A Tully who'll be raised and controlled by the Freys. That's why Sansa was so important. She was married off to both the Lannisters and the Boltons. It was important to get her pregnant because that child would have claim to Winterfell and still have the Stark lineage, which would keep the North in line.

It's difficult in general to prove paternity in this story. The King is a Baratheon even though a lot of people know that Tommen is a Lannister on both sides. Could be that Freys are lying and they've got some kid who could pass for a Tully and/or Frey and that's supposed to be Edmure's kid. It doesn't really matter. That's the accepted story that the Freys are going with.

I always feel its different when a male passes down their genes vs a female because a male will always be above a female in the social hierarchy
Kill the men and smash the women, isnt that what conquers do?
A child by Sansa and Ramsay will have the Bolton name but will have stark blood
A child by Edmure and Roslin will have the Tully name, and the tully are traitors.

Wouldnt it be more beneficial if the heir to river run is a girl instead of a boy?
The girl can be married off to Frey heir and thus ending the Tully line for good while still having tully blood to keep people in check.
