The NBA Stats Thread: The 15-year chain reaction that led to the NBA's current offensive explosion

Maaaan, I don't know. Whatever adds up to 21.

For all the issues/complaints about the Thunder, sure seem like nice problems to have. Not to mention another lottery pick on the way + Lamb to develop. (Hopefully)

George Karl today sayin that he's patterned the Nuggets after some soccer team, the Oregon Ducks, the NFL's new hurry up offense, etc going quicker, faster than any defense is ready to set to. I don't have the numbers on their pace or whatever but I heard him talkin about it this morning on the radio.

Problem is, will that style stay in play come the slow it down playoffs? Hasn't typically, they've been out like 8 of the last 9 first rounds and are lookin at a matchup against a slow it down Memphis team that can control the boards, you gonna get exposed again Karl. :pimp:

I think Denver is the 3rd best team in the East and could give OKC/SA a real scare. And all those guys in a year or so :wow:

All those guys still play for George Karl with Miller getting closer and closer to being done. (been saying for like 9 years tho. )

They also have to see if Iggy opts in, Mozgov and Brewer are free agents, and Lawson's contract kicks in, so their payroll is already up 5-6 million more, with fewer players on the roster. So while they have room to grow as a core, some of their pieces may not be back either.

And they still have George Karl, that can not be stressed enough.

50+ wins, 4-5 seed, out in the first round. 2 decades strong. :pimp:

Except he has been to a finals and had very good teams...George Karl isn't an elite coach but I never understand your constant hate towards him either.

Miller will still be fine for two more years and Mosgov and Brewer are very replaceable. Iggy will be interesting but Majiri has proven to be one of the best 3/4 GM's around they'll be good for a while.

He's been knocked out in the first round like 15 times.

With 50 win teams. He made 1 run in a down West with Kemp/Payton in their prime.
1 "run" with Melo.

Everything else is pretty much 1 and done.

He has a 60% win percentage in the regular season and like 43% in the playoffs.

Like I said, 8 outta 9 years out in the first round or something close to that. How many chances can 1 coach get before people open their eyes?

Since being acquired by the Magic, Tobias Harris in seven games: 16.7 PPG (56/37/72 for a 62 TS%) and 6.2 RPG in 28.7 MPG.

Displaying a lot of potential as a big, athletic forward that can shoot from the perimeter and take opposing bigs off the dribble.

He doesn't turn 21 until July.

Speaking of young Orlando players... Many who just assumed Vucevic was a throw in with the Dwight trade were mistaken. This kid can play. 13th in Offensive Rebound %. 5th in defensive, 4th in total rebound %... ahead of Chandler, Howard, Duncan, Faried, etc. 12.3, 11.4, and a block in 32 minutes a game. He's shooting 68% from the line, but only taking 1.5 per game.

Suddenly he and Harris are looking like a solid pairing down low for Orlando.

and CP, did you get suspended from the season thread?

Just wondering because I didn't see you post in there the last day or so but rather here...

He's embracing today's movement in advanced stats.

If only he could leave Star Wars behind.

Oh, weird.

Well, you know, the Lord works in mysterious ways. Sometimes grass is greener.... elsewhere.

7/26. Thank you Rudy. :pimp:

P, is there an easy, clean way to put Kobe/Harden side by side? Would like a look. (I know the results, but some others need the help).

What are you trying to see? Shot charts? Complete rundown of stats?

If you mean their numbers:

Edit: I don't know why that came out so small but if you click it it's legible.

Thank you both. Tonight gonna alter both of em. 19 more to go.

I don't see Harden havin the better year like was bein said after his 46. (Which was certainly ridiculous)

Kobe has been balling lately. Can't go wrong with either of them.

Don't forget that stat you retweeted, P. I think it was 9-36 in the last 3 minutes when the game is within three.

Those two game-winners, though.
