finally got my hands on some for around retail. so so happy to finally have these in my life. im considering painting the midsole a flat white. not into the distressed vintage look. thoughts anyone?

Don't paint it. The finish will rub off. I don't remember how I did it though. Maybe someone will chime in.

Did you ever find a solution? It was on this thread somewhere. I think maybe try one of those wall cleaner sponges. Slightly dampen the sponge and wipe.

If it's like the vintage look on the original Jordan AJKO retro (09/10?) that came off with using baby wipes.

Yes! It may have been baby wipes that I did. Try that first if you can. Acetone will probably be too harsh.

maybe i have some baby baby wipes, but its not taking anything off. ima just repaint the midsole. let you know how it turns out.

Ok then it must not have been baby wipes. I know I did the wall scuff remover sponges and that worked. It wasn't perfect and it seemed to depend how heavily "tarnished" they were. Honestly though what was the point of doing that? Really Nike just ruined the shoe.

agreed. im not into vntg anything. i have 3 pairs of vntg blazers, and its barely tolerable. i dont need my sneakers to look like theyre worn, i can do that myself. in fact, many of us are trying our hardest not to have them look worn in. so what the heck nike. i will say im into the flat white look on these as im painting them right now. just overall cleaner look in my opinion. i'll post up soon.
i think its an improvement.

If I remember correctly, a mr clean magic eraser should clean off the vintage yellowing effect pretty well. I forgot they did those and the shape looks a lot better than the previous non-vintage version.

the concords and the bright crimsons pairs were at outlets last fall for 39.99. i doubled up on the concords but should've grabbed the crimsons was well. only reason i was hesitant was i copped the concords on release for retail @120$ or 130$ shipped so scoring 2 more pairs for under 80$ left me feeling dumb.

i love the 180s, had like 3 pairs of the ultramarines but man them joints get dirty soooooo quick

180s are in my top 5 no doubt. thing about them over other retros is they are in my opinion quintessential retro. other air maxes like 1 and 90 stay relevant to the time, trend and fashion. the 180 is like you know this dude misses the 1990s. so for me its a straight up retro sneaker that isnt apologetic for being a retro.

the fit of 180's are the best overall AM by far. thats why i've always loved huaraches, hua lights, presto's & now the sock dart. the sock like fit is superior to all other shoes imo

Concords are still on ice. Picked them and crimsons up from the outlet a few years ago. Wore the crimsons heavy. May have to break the concords out this summer.

The Olympic Barkley 180 is coming back 7/7. Maybe they will use some air bags on a 180 retro.
