Florida man falls & disappears in sinkhole in his room

How do they fix sinkholes? Do they just fill them up? I feel that still wouldn't be stable to rebuild roads, houses, ect. on.

I live in Orlando and there was a sinkhole that formed in my neighborhood last year. It formed in the backyard. The police had to barricade the entire property.

My house wasn't in danger but it's scary to think that something like that can happen so close to you.
 
I'm like 20 miles from where this happened.

Thank god I'm moving out of Florida this year.

Heard about this, didn't think of it much being its Florida but then again it's mostly sand...
