This is weird but my favorite Kobe moment was a game he was playing the Magic and Tracy McGrady, think in 2003. I used to be a T-Mac fan, but when I saw Kobe lead the Lakers back and put the clamps on T-Mac in the 4th quarter. That's when I realized he really was the best player in the league and T-Mac just didn't have that same type of fire and fight.
Honorable mention was when I was a lil young'n watching him in the all star game at MSG. Starting on the squad when he didn't start on the Lakers. That's when I really first heard of him since I was so young. He was on the main stage and did his thing.

I was at this game and actually had a conversation with people leaving with 2 minutes left. We were down 6 I believe and I asked why are you leaving? They said "look at the score, it's over" and I said "When you have Kobe Bryant it's never over."
The dudes left and then KOBE happened.
I lost my mind when he hit it, jumping up and down and screaming like a girl for 30 seconds.

Kobe might be my favorite player ever. I don't know if there is another player who devoted themselves to the game of basketball like Kobe did (other than MJ.)
His heart and dedication are second to none. Although an athletic beast, compared to many other shooting guards in the past and today, he isn't the most athletic guy who played the position (Jordan, T Mac, VC to name a few) were all much more athletic than Kobe, but his skill set and will to win put him above all (except MJ) and I think that is a huge reason why at 34 years old with almost 17 seasons in he is still a huge threat in this league.

Please delete this thread. This man is overrated and plays with no heart. He needed LUKE freakin WALTON to win his 4th and 5th RING!!!! He played as Catwomen during the Shaq era. Glen Rice was Robin in 2000. Isiah Rider played the biggest role in 2001. DON't even start about 2002! If it wasn't for Mitch Richmond on the Lakers, Jason Kidd would have had his second ring!

One thing I've always said about Kobe is that I love his work ethic. Yes, I do think that a HUGE reason for his gaudy numbers and resume is because of his longevity in the league... but longevity in ANY league isn't guaranteed. Sure, your contract might be guaranteed, but your playing time isn't. If you suck, you could have 9 more years on your contract and it wouldn't matter, your time is going to be cut short one way or the other.
But Kobe has continued to play at a high level for nearly 15 years. How many greats can say that? You can say... I can say... that he has had an incredible fortune in who he has been surrounded with (Shaq, Phil, Pau), but that literally has NOTHING to do with how long he has lasted so far, and still going.
Iverson came in the same year. Where's he at? Oh, because he has false reputation of being a cancer? Well, it's to Kobe's credit that he doesn't have that reputation, and if the Lakers were to release him, teams would TRIP OVER THEIRSELVES trying to pick him up. Every honest critic out there knows that.
Where's Tmac at? He came in AFTER Kobe, and he's already done. Injuries cut him short? Look, I've read that Tmac's work ethic behind the scenes left a lot to be desired; saying "He wasn't exactly killing himself in the gym" is an understatement, and now he's... what, in China or something, ain't he? And even HE complimented the hell out of Kobe in some statement last year for Kobe's insane work ethic.
His cousin Vince... I know he's still in the league, but... I mean... he's a shell of Vinsanity. You'd be an idiot to say he's one of the league's best right now. And he has no idea what 'playing through difficult injury' means.
Even my personal GOAT, Magic, didn't work as hard as Kobe has. The game was natural to Earvin. Sure, he ate right, kept himself in good shape, did the whole cardio thing and studied film, but for the most part, he wasn't out there shooting 2k jumpers a day.
For anyone to say Kobe SUCKS and has only been the benefactor of a great supporting cast is absolutely FALSE. He is PHENOMENALLY talented, insanely dedicated to playing at a high level, and my team has absolutely benefited from his dedication.
