Shoe Game is pretty much over for me now..

I feel the same way man....its been over for me...all the hyperbeasts have just destroyed the sneaker game

you see pics of kardashians and **** wearing J's makes me never want to wear jordans ever again

My take is this. What you spend on a few pairs of sneakers, you can use that same $$ to go on a trip to Hawaii or something of that nature and see something new and that just seems like a much better way to spend my extra money at this point in my life then having to go through loops and bounds to buy general release sneakers.

The new breed isn't the problem. The cheap *** materials they started using years ago is what turned me off.

I never embraced the sneaker "culture" for lack of a better term.

Sneakerhead and the shoe game are just dumb terms to me. Not sure who said it but a dude on here was explaining how dumb it was to say the shoe game...on some "I have plenty of t-shirts, am I in the t-shirt game?" steez.

I'll never take shoes THAT seriously and god it is embarrassing to watch these hypebeasts and newbies **** themselves over the dumbest things. I missed my two grails two years ago (Playoff 13's/Flint 13's) and I wasn't even bummed out; seems like people get real mad over any release they don't get. I never wore my sneakers to impress, because that would simply mean getting a lot of attention from dudes, and that isn't the way I roll. I like wearing sneakers because they look good to me and not to anyone else. If you're caught up in this "sneaker game" maybe you need to re-evaluate things. Just seen a FB post on a sneaker group and two dudes were ready to go at it because the guy lied about the condition of his shoes. Like really? Is society THAT materialistic and/or impulsive?

u get to a point in your life and career when j's are no longer viable as footwear. You simply cant even rock em anywhere except for the gym and to play ball and no one around you even gives a damb that you spent over 150 dollars on those tawdry basketball shoes.

I've fallen off the whole buying shoes for a while now. The thing that turned me off was the new generation and how much hype every shoe gets. Another reason was the price hike on every shoe with lesser quality materials. But the main reason was growing up. Just simply growing out of shoes, mostly Jordans. The last pair I bought was the Chicago X's on release day, and sold them off a week later. I wasn't feeling it anymore, my heart wasn't there like it used to. Granted I still buy running shoes like frees and flyknits. I also buy Kobes and KDs. But I don't buy as many shoes as I used to. Knowing that I can save a couple hundred and using that on other things was more of a turn on the older I got. The new generation can have theirs, I'll stick to my running shoes, Kobes, KDs and whatever brand shoe I think looks good.

"Every time I try to leave something keeps pulling me back, me back. Telling me I need you in my life"

If I can't get the shoe for retail or just a tad bit above then eff it. No reason to stress about some damn sneakers.

Never did I camped out but I lined up twice before and honestly, I can say that I don't want any part of that anymore. Such hassle.

As others say, BUY WHAT YOU LIKE.

when i was these kids ages i was out playing with my friends trying to finger chicks.

selling shoes and callin it a hustle is a damn joke, this is what these "hustlers" look like.
i agree for the most part with the terms "game" and "sneakerhead" but the hustle is a honest hustle. I rather those folks sell sneakers than be out in the streets selling drugs.

I hate when people say they hate when people say "shoe game"

As if your posts about calling people lame for using "shoe game" will make a difference .

What's wrong with calling it the "shoe game"

These new hypebeasts stories remind me of when I bought my eggplant foams like 3 years ago and a few of my younger cousins didn't like them and said they were ugly. I was trying to let them now what was up and they wouldn't hear it. Now they're asking me to hand them down to them and they show me all of the new releases and colorways for the foams all hyped

I've been out of it for a minute, YEARS. But I am happy for all of the engineering and design aspects that I learned from it when I was younger, let alone the business aspects of it.

I pretty much stopped buying new releases in early 2012. Every time I got the urge to buy a new release, I just put $300 down on my credit card bills. I had a couple thousand leftover from being young and dumb buying shoes, clothes and whatnot. Trying to buy the latest materialistic possessions when I should have been paying off debt. I did buy shoes here and there but mostly from the outlets or a really good sale. I'm not even gonna lie, I tried buying a couple releases but thank God I couldn't get through on nikestore or twitter. Today my final credit card payment went through! I have a zero balance on my cards for the first time since 2000! It feels so good that I'm actually scared to use my credit card. I can't tell you the feeling, I have a little more pep in my step, a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. The only debt I have right now is my school loan, but it's no big deal. I feel like a drank unicorn blood and I can do anything. Chicks are smiling at me, I'm cheesin' like a dude that just got his braces off and looked into the mirror and realized for the first time that he has dimples. I don't know if I'm giving off that confidant aura or these hood rats are smelling my credit score rise through my pheromones. I drove out of work with my music on ignorant decibels. I feel better than any new shoe could make me feel. So today I got that Venti iced coffee and just sat there sippin and feelin myself.
:nthat:

shoe game is terrible i remember when i could go and see retros still in stock. Today i went to champs, footlocker and see nothing but trash. Why can't you wake up late and still get the shoe you want now all these kids think these poor quality jordans are godly and want to buy into the hype. hipster kids need to find a new trend and not take away wearing jordans and trying to impress other hipsters i fell sorry for the parents
when you see those threads supporting man skirts... you should show full support...

The spacejams did it for me. Camping for those was mayhem. That was the last big release for me. But if you love sneakers/shoes you will find a new outlet.

Jordan's price gouging and poor quality aside. You get a job where you can't wear sneakers every day....realize you have 60 pairs....and wear sneakers max 2 times a week. I wear my nike free's or flyknits to the gym every day...then on weekends you don't' even care anymore....wear your roshe's or am90s out every where because you no longer want to put on your slightly uncomfortable and heavy Jordan 5s, or 4s, 7s etc. And you don't want to wear your Hare 7s to the bar and risk getting messed up....just no longer practical.

This dude clearly knows the struggle lol.

I've found myself wearing my roshes EVERYDAY. I have a smaller collection than you, but my Jordan collection is shrinking. I mean I UNDS my CDP XI and they WERE SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE. I paid 200 for them and 50 each(2) for my roshes and I've wore my roshes more than them. I skipped out on all Jordan releases this year and probably still will unless its the lightnining iv or those red nuback joints in the fall.

For now, it seems the runners is what has my attention and what I like to wear(when I even get the chance to rock sneakers), sold some of my collection because its just sitting here collecting dusk (and a ninja is broke)

My advise to anyone is just be WISE in your purchases, SAVE PROPERLY AND PAY YOUR BILLS AND HAVE NEXT MONTHS SAVINGS before you buy any material items. These things come and go. In 10 years these Jordans probably won't even be wearable. Then what?

Haven't bought a pair of J's since 2005 but I'm hoping to get a pair of the upcoming grapes.

Said it before and I'll say it again, terms like "shoe head" "sneaker head" and "shoe game" are all made up by losers to create a group for them to fit in/belong to. These guys usually talk like Lil mama, and look like the swag surfing dude.
