Ebay sellers...can we share our blocked bidder lists to drive these flakers/scammers/annoyance-prone

OK - if you're not a seller on ebay, feel free to move it along. This thread is probably not for you.

I've been a seller on ebay for 10+ years and things have gotten out of control with ebay lately. I have about a 33% non-paying bidder rate - which, if you're selling shoes or clothes, I'm sure most of you do too. ebay offers nothing in terms of support, relief, nor compensation for held money and time wasted. Although I'm sure many of these timewasters are on NT, but I know there are a ton of ebay sellers experiencing the frustration on NT, too.

The only (small) thing I have been able to do to combat these flakers is to place them on my blocked bidders list (I only learned of this recently from another NTer) My list is pretty small since I just started doing this a couple of months ago, but would anyone else be interested in sharing their blocked bidders list so we could all have a much bigger (shared) list of of these losers? I'm envisioning a list of several hundred (maybe even thousands) of flakers that none of us would have to deal with again - if you've been scammed or screwed over by anyone on ebay - post their user names here.

Anyone else in? If so, post your list and I'll just keep adding to this post...

EDIT: I guess I just discovered the futility of this quest - I found several thousand more through various sites, but when I tried to post them into my list, I got a message from ebay saying I could only put upt to 5000 IDs in my list. It may be a good idea to just keep this in the NT community between bidders we've been personally burnt by.

I think it's a good idea, but people will abuse it. You are going to solicit random people from the internet to start a list about other people on the internet. What would stop me from just naming a bunch of NT screen names? I'm just sayin.

that's a good point, but i would think anyone that posts just random names would be wasting their own time with zero benefit (save for trolls)...

i just cancel bids from dudes with 0 feedback. i know everyone started at 0 and need to start somewhere, but it isnt worth the time.

It's more likely that people will start trolling his auctions.

I made this thread a couple months back. Then I switched to the BIN + immediate payment format and haven't looked back. If you price your item correctly, it will sell regardless.

I've had a lot of success for small items with 0 feedback bidders.

It's the high end items that do it for me.

I just wish they would bring back negative feedback for buyers. That would literally fix all my problems

yes, 0 feedback and location usually does it for me for shoes. 

Been done with eBay once they started charging for ending auctions early.

There's a time frame within which you can end the auction. If you run it for 7 days, and someone makes and a reasonable offer on day 3 - don't wait till the end to cancel it.

I've seen items on ebay for over a year with a BIN, I list the exact same item and size in an auction with a low start price and it has ended higher than the BINs on ebay. I consistently sell identical items for higher than BIN listings. Auction format is in itself a great marketing tool. I have found myself bidding more than I originally intended when it comes down to the last minutes/seconds. You are selling yourself short by using only BIN auctions.

False. You can end the auction ten minutes after you created it and you will still be charged fees. Regardless of if you choose to end it with or without a winner, you will be charged. I ended an auction right after I created it, there had been no bids placed and I was charged final value fees based on the starting price of the auction. Ridiculous.

If a user with under 50 feedback is bidding on my auctions I usually go in and read the feedback. Since you can't neg a buyer anymore most sellers are leaving positive feedback and indicating they did not pay for the item. Negative feedback comments but with a positive designation. I suggest sellers in here do the same. Go in and read the feedback of your bidders.

It's so damn annoying. I'm going to relist my Roshes for the third time because these low lives won't pay.

They need to bring it back and make it only available when the buyer doesn't pay. I've had instances back in like '06 where I left negative feedback for a seller and they turned around and left me negative feedback out of spite.

Eh, I'm willing to take the small hit. It saves me the trouble of dealing with deadbeats and having to relist the item.

I had 7 non paying bidders last month for a while just to speed the process up I'd send a cancel transaction but now I just report it and relist anyways tired of that mess.. Already on two npb this month as well .

I always read the last few feedbacks but now if they are gonna take away the positive/negatives how the hell are we protected ? Like dude said above its a ig waste of Time and money for us waiting the whole process of getting your fees back mean while the npb bidding on anything else they want..

Did you provide a reasonable explanation as to why you were ending the auction? Additionally what was the starting price? *Knock on wood* I haven't had the misfortune of being dinged with cancellation fees but I'm like everyone in this thread with non-paying bidders. Currenly have a cat asking me to cancel some auction that he regrets bidding on. I just opened up a case and said I haven't received payment - he can take the 'behind the scenes' penalty for it.

There is a drop down menu when ending auctions to pick why you are ending it, all of them seemed reasonable, I think I selected "a mistake in the listing". I never tried to contact anyone about it or explain my case since it was not a big deal. I think the starting bid was around $50 and the charge was almost $5. They have a little message that pops up now saying how ending auctions early disappoints potential buyers so in order to discourage that they are charging FVF on all auctions ended early.

On another note, you cannot type @ or .com in any ebay messages now to prevent doing deals directly through paypal.

A few times now peeps have asked me to cancel cause there son or some bs won the item with immediate payment ya right I shipped anyways and said I did not see the email both times they left me a positive anyways lol. We all know its a few steps its wasn't your kid or a accident

I always read the last few feedbacks but now if they are gonna take away the positive/negatives how the hell are we protected ? Like dude said above its a ig waste of Time and money for us waiting the whole process of getting your fees back mean while the npb bidding on anything else they want..

THIS!!!! It's annoying as ****. I'm about to relist my Roshes for the THIRD time this week because these bums won't pay.

I started selling recently and after what I've experienced so far in my short span, I'll only do business through NT or SC. I'm not in a rush to move any of my stuff.
