Just saw this chick featured on the latest Real Sports.

I think they'd have to get scientific with this and test levels like testosterone/estrogen and whatever else. If all passes, I say go for it. But you can't be having Andersen Silva in a wig beating up on women.
this
Basically.

Biologically speaking the body is still male. It naturally produces more T so perhaps if they found away to get that under control I would be all for it.

Read up on her wiki, her Doc claims that with therapy, transgendered individuals after gender reassignment surgery actually no longer possess the same bone density and natural muscle mass men have. So she should be anatomically and physiologically identical to her cisgender counterparts.

Looking at her physique however, I'm skeptical. At 145 she looks a lot top-heavier than Cyborg at the same weight. Her shoulders and her arms, and just her overall frame are wider than most everyone in her division.

I have a really difficult time she can even make 135 w/o compromising her health. If she can do it, I say give her a shot. I just don't know if I totally buy Dr. Vilain's (her docs name) claim that she's physically similar to her cisgender counterparts.

I will pose this question however, what has she accomplished in her MMA career to warrant a shot at the UFC? She's 4-1-0, and is coming off a TKO loss last October. She rebounded with an armbar victory over Heather Bassett, a complete no name with just 2 fights on her record.

So is she using her gender as a way to exploit her way into the UFC? I don't get it, she'd get annihilated by anyone in the top 10. Outside of Jessica Rakoczy I don't see anyone signed to the women's Batamweight div in the UFC that she can beat. This reeks of a PR stunt.

if fighters can't take steroids or other enhancers - this person should not be able to compete as a woman in that division

if her doctor is on board with her fighting, i can not fully trust his analysis

it should compete in the male division & proceed to get its delusional head bashed in

Uncalled for man, **** with that commentary. Who the **** do you think you are calling her an "it"?

She'd probably beat you to within an inch of your life.

Also while you can be skeptical of her doctor's endorsement, at least have the common decency to do it in an appropriate manner.

Also comparing PEDs to gender reassignment surgery? Really? Dude you just outed yourself as one ignorant *** bigot.

what pronoun is appropriate?

How about what she identifies herself as? "Her".

But really, you already knew that. You're just being condescending at this point. What's wrong? Inferiority complex? Mad because she probably bags more chicks than you? That she can beat you up?

I mean seriously, you're going to come back in here and ask me what pronoun is more appropriate? Like really dude? Like I don't see what you're doing? Like when is "it" ever appropriate to describe a human being?

A nerve may have been touched.

I would hope his commentary would touch more nerves than just mine. Or are we okay with people describing human beings as "it" and wanting to see them get their heads bashed in?

It wasn't about MMA at that point, he wants someone to maliciously assault her because of her gender. It's called context.

dude - you said this person would probably kick my az yet you gotta note the head bash comment - please

Just citing your insecurity Rhino. And here you are again, referring to her as "this person". Damn you're stubborn.

if you mean i'm insecure about it as in uneasy or anxious then yes - cite away

anyone who hacks off their junk or wants to has way deeper problems than either of us
no conditioning will ever change my mind about that

and i am stubborn which is why i'm replying to you over an issue i really don't care take much time about

but really - do you think its fair competition? i don't

See, then bro why even comment on a topic you have no business talking about? Unless you understand dysphoria and how she psychologically related to herself as a female all throughout life how are you even going to fix your face to speak on something you don't have any knowledge of?

I mean you wouldn't go off spouting such ignorance IRL, but here on NT, you feel you're allowed to just throw around ignorant, bigoted commentary w/o it being addressed? Really?

It's not as simple as she wanting to "hack off her junk". Nor did she have "way deeper problems". It wasn't a choice for her really. It's how she psychologically felt all her life. For her, gender reassignment was her coming to terms with her true identity. A female.

And if you read my previous post, I'm on the fence about "fairness". If what Dr. Vilain is saying is correct, and her bone density and muscle mass are similar to cisgender females, then sure I say let her fight on.

But my skepticism has more to do with

1. I doubt she can drop to 135. She looks a lot top heavier than Cyborg Santos who has a LOT of trouble dropping to 135. I doubt Fallon could do it without putting her health in jeopardy. But that has nothing to do with her gender, I feel the same way about Cyborg.

2. I don't think she deserves to fight in the UFC because she hasn't really fought anyone with any tangible MMA experience. But hey if Jessica Rakoczy can make the UFC, why not Fallon? I just don't know if signing every marginal female talent to a UFC deal is a precedent Dana or the Ferritas want to set. The batamweight division is pretty impressive from 1-10, but there's a considerable fall off around the top 12. I think Fallon would actually get annihilated by the best batamweights in the division, especially if she has to sacrifice more mass to get down to 135.

So no, I don't think it would be fair. But not for the same reasons you don't think it's fair.

and i didn't personally attack you so why all the nasty adjectives and spite?

Nah but that's not even the point. I could endure a personal attack directed toward me. I won't however sit by idly while you or anyone else dehumanizes anyone else because of their gender.

And you know what? I'll go ahead and apologize for my digs at you. But I don't apologize for seeing your commentary for what it is.
