Post Your Grails

It's not an absolute, for sure. I'm just saying that in my experience of the 3 -6 group that released around that time, I feel like the 4s have the least chance of surviving. I certainly know of wearable pairs - I've had wearable pairs. But, as a rule of thumb, I don't trust them anymore, For example, I won't really buy pairs of any of those shoes anymore because even if it's a great deal, unless you are prepared to sole swap, I think it's a bad risk-benefit equation.

nice,^^those 4s still wearable?

DS 4s are almost certainly a wrap. I have some Vs that I still wear because I've been wearing them for years. But, I have DS pairs too and I'd be pretty scared to give them a try. 3s are risky too, but maybe hold up the best out of the bunch. I have some DS Black Infra VIs still that I think might hold up, but there's no need for me to try because I have a pair that I wear. So, by the time I need the others, I'm sure they'll be a wrap. The IVs are probably the worst of all of them. I actually have multiple pairs of '99 IV SAMPLES - a pair of white cement and 2 pairs of blacks - and they're all cracked up even though I've never worn them. I wouldn't mind sole swapping them.
'Preciate it fellas. The IV's are still wearable. Air units are clear and the midsoles are still firm. I got lucky with those, but my III's on the other hand, have some minor separation going on. :frown:

My 3's (bought DS) are holding up pretty well and I wear those a lot with no problems.  The 5's (bought DS as well) however, are a different story.  Wore them no more than 5 -10 times and the midsole started to crack.  My initial thought was the 3's and 5's should hold up fine while the 4's would just break down on you.  That's the only thing preventing me from getting a pair.  I'm amazed to hear your 4's are still holding up fine.

I guess it all depends on how they were originally stored also, because I had some DS College Blue XVII's that crumbled on me on the first wear lol. But I've heard about some '99/2000 Jordan V's holding up great, then I've seen others that have straight up crumbled. I'm just glad that at least one of my older grails is still wearable.

^ Yeah, needless to say my 5's now are retired and just stored in a clear display case for me to look at every time I walk inside my room and put away my keys/wallet.

(2010) pic of my oreo 4s i would say these were grails.great leather only owned them for a few months until a good offer came my way.....regret selling them.one of the few jordans i have ever liked.

Break in all your new shoes.  From what I have experienced, the shoes that are "Broken-In", do not fall apart.  Its the DS shoes that crumble on the first wear.

I just love them , whats the best price u have seen for this shoes ?

Oh and but they are very hard to find

Awesome thread :pimp:

1996 AJXI (blk/wht/red): I remember going to the mall with my mom back in 1996 and going into Footlocker looking for these, they had them and I distinctly remember picking up a display pair and my mom asking if they had them in my size...but nope, didn't have my size or close to it...:smh: Mom would have bought them for me too...About a week after that I remember being at school and seeing a kid hooping in them at recess and I was mad jealous... I doubled up on these and wear 1 of the pairs all the time...the other is DS...such an awesome shoe...

And finally,

1992 AJVII: This was the very 1st Air Jordan I knew of as a kid back in 1992. I was 7 years old and remember seeing Bugs Bunny wearing these on a T-Shirt or something + I was already a fan of MJ so of course I wanted these bad but my parents wouldn't buy them for me. Anyways, I was finally able to track down a DS pair in my size about a year ago. :pimp:
