The only "OG" Black / Gold 1's that was confirmed to be legit were these...15 pairs I think was the number produced and it was for MJ's friends and family...

I thought that there were two separate iterations of the same colorway in 1985 - a proposed limited retail release that was likely leather and there has been no independent confirmation on if it ever made it to a store for sale, and a patent leather version that was likely f & f. 

The decidedly few that have shown up for sale have been leather and have fetched low-mid 5 figures. 

The only patent leather iteration that has come up for sale was, apparently, snatched off of ebay within a couple of hours. I'm not sure if the authenticity was ever determined.

U really can't tell that they r patent leather from the picture? Do u really believe that their is no patent leather version? Keep asking this. To urself.
 
^thanks guys! i was really P.O'ed when my connect didnt get the PL Black/Golds and the Celtics were just sitting at his store so he let me use his discount and i got a pair for 30% off.

after looking at the Celtics close up last night, i saw how terrible they looked and i had extra black paint laying around so i said why not :smokin
 
Yea exactly nevermind because you don't know. Everybody "wants" the OG to be patent leather so they can "validate" their hypebeasting over these.
