We supposed to be matching buddies I think is what he was trying to get at
y'all never seen that episode of fullhouse? aint nothing more 90s than tgif.  anyway, this ep shows her copping what she thought was an ill outfit, only to find the lunch maid rocks with the same gear.  same concept with that old lady rocking the persians.  i mean at the end of the day, we get what we like and it doesnt matter who wears what where.  but it might embarrass my ego a bit if i was rocking persians today and she rolled in with the same pair on.  thats all.

its possible, but i highly doubt it.  i see her everyday and she usually rocking with burkenstocks or EEE monarchs when she feeling sporty.

when i was in hong kong a few years ago i saw senior people wearing air maxes on a daily base, there i saw old grannies and gramps at the streets wearing AM90 laser blues, infras, concords, AM1 OG reds & blue, west pack, AM95 neons, spark blues, solar reds and even jordan 5, foamposites and lebrons lol
laugh.gif
the shoegame from the senior peeps in hong kong was mad next level, and my grandpa in hong kong also loves to rock BWs back in the days, i remembered that he got the OG black turquoise cw that was in the same color blocking as the persians, the OG all leather black/white LE cw and the all navy OG cw with the white swoosh, i even still have some pictures from him and me wearing BWs when i was there for holiday

I wonder why? Is the market that much more saturated?

It's in the Asian gene to be fresh. most Asians I know are really into shoes and clothing like supreme and anything else to look like Kanye lol
Not to stereo type too bad, but now that you say that I do remember several of my Asian boys growing up being real icy. P.S if you were to be Stereotyped, that wouldn't be the worst one.

I don't mean to stereotype either but it's what I've notice. those were the people I saw wearing stussy, supreme, and the high fashion stuff

i think they wear them because they are light weighted and comfortable and also the nike shoes are relative cheap there, air max was around 75-80 euro and if you buy them at the sale it was around 55-60 euro and jordan 3,4 & 5 was 120-130 euro, foams was like 150-160 euro

Its crazy how extreme variance in price from country to country, or region to region is? For example Australia to Asia. Very high in Australia and very low in Asia. I'm sure its just economics 101, but still sucks for the people paying almost double.

they are so cheap because the majority of the nike and adidas shoes are manufactured in china

and also the taxes for luxury goods in hong kong is one of the lowest in the whole world

pretty true. Im from lowell which is pretty much cambodia town and all i see are kids ages 12-13 rockin supreme gear and anything adidas nowadays due to kanye. Man at that age i was still rockin old navy and clothes from marshalls with a pair of superstars ive had for 2 years lol

At 12-13 I had a choice either I got the nice clothes or the nice shoes not both, you can probably guess which one I chose lol

Funny you mention about Asians typically being pretty fresh I was on holiday last year in surfers paradise Australia and at the theme parks which are usual tourist hot spots and I saw nothing but heat on all the Asian tourists from the younger ones to the gran and grandpa. New balance, air max 1's, air max 2015's were pretty popular with the oldies.

It's all about status with them.

Nice cars. Nice sneaks. Nice house.

Mum dad three sons all sleeping in one room with every other room full of the rest of the fam including gran and gramps.

Just different culture.

Unfortunately it's the same at sneaker drops too, whole family turns up (literally) all with tickets.

Me on my lonesome don't stand a chance.

as a member, i sadly agree to this.  i was hella poor growing up.  my friends had cements, black cats, grapes and omnis with the starter pull overs and riding giant and trek.  i was rocking avia and riding a huffy, both copped from caldor (how many heads remember that jump off spot?)  but now that my family is living "the american dream," they all about flossing and stunting.

i try to have balance in my life and keep it as simple as possible to be content with what i can afford vs what really makes me happy.  sadly, we're driven in a capitalistic world, so our imperfect nature is to chase after less important things.  we all stunt like the sneaker game is life, but if the house was burning down, we all know fam comes first.  and maybe 1 grail pair.

I couldn't agree more. I grew up in government Housing. We were as poor as could be, so needless to say second hand is how we rocked. In the city your kicks and gear were everything. So at a very young age I "acquired" them on my own. It's definitely nostalgic to copp the stuff I only dreamed about as a kid.

Especially now that I'm a father, I sometimes worry that I'm teaching them to be superficial and materialistic. For me, I've realized that from time to time I've gotta pump the breaks with sneakers a bit. I definitely don't want them to think "stuff" defines them as people. It's tough to do when your a raging sneaker addict though.

Having what you had or couldn't get as a kid is what seems to drive most of us slightly older folks in this game as much as anything. By older I mean People actually old enough to have seen Mike play or to have worn air max that were comfortable.

Or remember when something released and you just went and bought it? No lottery, raffles, Day long lines and the dreaded reseller

First visible air I managed to persuade my mum to pay for were black cements back in 94 (previously had a pair of BW which I managed to persuade a kid at school to trade with me for a pair of sambas lol). Copped for £30 at the then brand new Nike outlet and they had piles of them in boys and men's sizes sitting there.
