Kevin Durant is Obviously a top 5 player in the league today, but can we say that Kevin Durant is overrated?

I will admit that he is arguably the best scorer in the league, but what else does he bring to the table?

You would think someone with his athletic ability would use that to be an elite defender, but it doesn't look like that will ever be a priority to him (at least on ball).

I will also admit that he has improved each season (career high FG% and RBD), but should he even be in MVP discussion this season?

Is KD truly the future of the league or just the new "IT" guy.

Dude has had a remarkable career so far and is EXTREMELY accomplished at 24 years old. The scary part is, he's not even in his prime. If he's overrated, who isn't? There are things he can improve on, but this thread is insane. Overrated

a year ago i thought he was overrated when people were saying that he was on lebrons level.

Don't know why i'm responding to this

But from a statistic and accomplishment standpoint, no he isn't. Far from it. Since he's been in OKC, they (along with him) have gotten better and better, and are coming off a final appearance. He's become a more efficient scorer, which is very impressive considering how many points he does score. At his size, what he's been able to accomplish this early into his career is incredible. If anything, what he's done is underrated. He's already a gold medalist and a 3 time scoring champion.

My gripe with KD doesn't show up in the stat sheet. There are times during games where he just dissapears, gets off the rock quickly, gets pushed out of position, (especially late in games, leading to a low percentage Jumpshot) sometimes is out of control with the handle while dribbling in traffic, very passive defensively, and overall just doesn't impose his will on games at times. Down the stretch, especially against some of the league's best, he doesn't get much easy, making his efficiency that much more admirable. (Free trow line) He could stand to use some of that fire, that "IDGAF" attitude that Westbrook has.

Overall though, hell no he isn't overrated. I would question that whole "He isn't even in his prime" thing though. How much better is he going to get? He's already VERY good. We shall see what becomes of KD. This postseason will go a long way IMO.

I could care less about it. I do like this new commercial he is in. CYCLISTS WE IN HERE

A 50/40/90 guy leading the league in scoring on arguably the best team in his conference is overrated somehow? Fresh of leading his team to the finals at the tender age of 23?

Shorty with the beanie in this gif has always been a cutie to me :wow:

But yeah, that's why I said at face value you can't say that he's "Overrated" per say IMO. At least not right now. The next few years will tell a lot. He's done a lot already. The only thing left to do is to improve the things that can't be measured and of course, win. All that's left for him now is championships and deep finals runs. Starting this postseason, he doesn't win or at least get to the finals, that'll be a step down, regression. We'll see.

i disagree with it being regression. its not his fault management decided not to pay their 3rd best player or that Brooks gonna be Brooks (which will play a big part in the teams success.) of course their motto is probably "championship or bust," but i wouldn't say Durant regressed if he raises his game in the playoffs but OKC loses to a better team. we've seen that happen to the greats like dirk, KG, and kobe

That would be on KD? or would that be on ownership for being cheap & forcing the GM to get rid of Harden & bring in inferior players? 1 of which the coach doesn't even play.

Well it depends on how he plays obviously. IMO he has to play very well, and be very good in the clutch. His performance this postseason has to be top notch. Then, if the inferior players you mentioned **** up, then I personally don't place the blame on KD but rather the team, and coaching, and management.

Ahhhh the Kobe ********rs mad there's a 100+ page thread discussing how overrated Kobe is.

The plan is to fill Sports and Training up with these threads until eventually the mods will have to lock all of them.

Well played Kobe stans well played.

And they wonder why we enjoy watching Lakers lose
Wtf? Where's the D riding? You trolls are making yourselves easier to spot. Smh
